Benteke reminds me of Emile Heskey. Big strong lad who falls over after tripping on a blade of grass. If he stayed on his feet and wasnt such a pussy I would agree he's a great player

I didn't think they had a mega rich owner particularly.

They don't were richer than them. They're just more ambitious

They had American investment middle of last season.
Signing decent players early. They'll start the season well.... will we ever learn?

Zaha, Townsend and bolasie supplying Benteke will be lethal!!
Mandana a good signing as well
They're recruiting in the positions they need to. We have a hell of a lot of work to do.

I think Benteke could be potentially, an excellent signing for Stoke, or for any PL club for that matter. Benteke was quality at Villa, he knows where the goal is and how to finish. If he joins another club & regains his form, then someone in this league will have a very good striker on their hands.
Palace are interested. Leicester do not seem to be yet (although we were linked with him about a month ago) but I'd definitely welcome him.

They don't were richer than them. They're just more ambitious More ambitious? We spent £18mil on imbula and will probably comfortably beat that for a record signing this summer.

Proper target man, strong on the ball, got a fierce shit. If he can rediscover the form he had for villa before his injury I'd snap him up and personally I'd take that gamble!! He might have a fierce shit, but he's just a big clumsy juggernaut who spends most of the time falling over and shouting at the referee! I think we've moved on from this type of player-we can do much better! Like who??

I have no doubt that the money's there. I think there's better value out there for players like Zaza or Pelle. Benteke's decent but he was pretty poor last season and seems very hit and miss. I've decided to chill now till the end of July and then start panicking again Clearly we're prepared to spend the big bucks I think our big issue is around wages as if we got a new signing in who wanted 100k a week we'd probably have to up 3-4 other players wages to match them. Priority for me at the moment is getting Arnie to sign. If he does I think we need a minimum of 1 x CB 1 x DM 1 x wide cover 2 x strikers if we let Crouchy or Walters go Hopefully 1 or 2 of our youngsters can start knocking on the door too.

49 in 94 for a pathetic Villa team.
And 10 goals in 20 starts (and loads of sub appearances for Liverpool)
Only 25.
Don't suppose Palacey/Stokey teams are really going to get much better.
I do like Berahino though. But if we don't get him, wonder who the next realistically attractable £20m+ man is?

His Villa for was awesome and he'd be a superb signing for any club outside the top 6.

All I ever hear is (insert star signing) needs a pre season, expect better next season. If you think we're up to scratch in our recruitment department and around the negotiation table you're living in cloud cuckoo land. We've already lost one player to a (then) manager-less team. Why can't we get the Berahino deal done? We were in for him in January - what's the hold up?

I don't buy it about Peace. If you want the player you go hard and get him. We always appear to fanny around.

We could no doubt if we wanted though, as much as Id like us to sign Beneteke I don't see Hughes whipping loads of crosses into the box with his inside forwards
