Red bulls currently 5-0 after 60 mins
However a young lad just come on making his debut for New York City Jack Harrison and the commentator just said that he's from Stoke. He was apparently the number 1 pick in this years super draft

Just switched over to the MLS for a second and NYC are getting battered. But they just brought a young kid on called Jack Harrison and the commentator said he's from Stoke. I've never heard of him but apparently they paid a bit of money to get him through the MLS draft system too. It's interesting that kids are starting to look at the MLS as a more realistic opportunity of making a career for themselves than over here. I.e Charlie Ward, Bobby Moseley

He came through the Man United youth system.
Looks like he moved to the US, and went to school there.

I.e Charlie Ward, Bobby Moseley I just posted about this in a separate thread. I agree that it's interesting to see more English players go over there and it's nice to see more youngsters going across instead of just your Gerrards beckhams & lampards. To be honest the quality of some of the players in the mls is appalling but the league is getting better and if more youngsters do decide to go over to the most then brilliant as they will just improve the league more The fact giovinco went over there at such a young age is brilliant for the league but it's such a waste as he'd be brilliant in the prem

It's so embarrassing, I love America but fucking hell the club didn't exist a year ago it's hard to hate the fuckers. As for whoever is supporting them... Give me one good reason why they're not fans of other established teams.

NYCFC are a right mess. Instead of the money being wasted on big namers they should try to build a football team.

Was watching the New York game last night, and a young lad called Harrison came on, who I believe was born in Stoke, and went through the Man Utd system before moving to USA, may be wrong though, anyone else heard it

Wow that's rather pathetic. Wonder if they have the same trouble when the jets play the giants in nfl on a larger scale.

The dynamic is Red Bulls are an old school team from the start of the mls who battlef to keep going amid hostility from all quarters. Nyc are seen as the new shiny sexy marketing opportunity now football is more popular Bulls see Nyc as false imposters and Nyc see Bulls as old poverty stricken dinosaurs.
Nyc fans dislike Frank Lampard. They see him as pinching a living. He hardly plays yet has signed up for media work during the Euros.

I rarely ever watch the MLS but I did watch this one entirely out of boredom.
New York City FC were dog shit from start to finish in every department, including Pirlo. It was embarrassing and it could have been 10 nil.
The over all ability level was piss poor and NYC manged to make a bang average player like Bradley Wright Phillips look like Luis Chomper Suarez.
Lampard was booed by NYC supporters when he came on as a late sub.
It did confirm on screen that the NYC sub Harrison was born in Stoke.
