I'm not questioning his importance to the team but that's the umpteenth mistake he's made since his return. Surely we must consider dropping him for the next game. I'll grant you he has been well off form for the last few games but if he were to be dropped what would be the back four line up, in your opinion? Like I said, go back to the formation that last won us a game (i.e. against Watford) with Geoff & Wolly as centre backs.

I think that that is a good observation. It is but last season Shawcross and Muni looked ace together. Something Shawcross and Wolly never have achieved. That's the main reason I'd play Muni alongside him. They fit together nicely. But at the moment I don't think Shawcross should be playing. He can't move properly. Another very good observation, but - never again Shawcross and Wooly, and Munieasa too injury prone to form a consistent pairing. How is the understanding going to develop?

Shawcross had such an understanding with Huth ,that's why they were so such a formidable partnership ,and I thinking that Shawcrosses short comings were not so obvious with Huth alongside as they are now with the likes of Wolshied,Muni,Cameron...Shawcross has to get the decisions right as he is the captain and leader..no Huths experience to fall back on ,only the afore mentioned players who all have mistakes in their own games..for me Huth helped Shawcross immensely ,he's getting pulled out of position far too often, and just looks like he has lost his confidence in a poor defence...that's why we look like conceding goals in every game..... I don't think this is really the case. Shawcross has always been the one that had to cover for his colleagues' deficiencies. He makes other players look better. He's been without Huth for almost two and a half years now, but it's only since his most recent back injury that he's not looked himself. Nothing to do with Huth in my opinion.

When I broke my leg (badly)it took 9 months to heal and another 9 months before I ran on it. I NEVER played football or Rugby again. I was 15 and a fit little bugger.
How these guys come back so quick is a mystery to me and to have the trust to put their faith in an injury not to go again when they are stressing it to the limit.
That is why I question weather Bojan or Shawcross is fit, Physical fitness is one thing, mentally fit is another.
You have to regain your trust in the leg, back , whatever with time, little by little. Some never get back to where they were, it becomes a mental block.
I know they will have the best treatment available, both physical and mental but nothing beats time.

If it is a mental block limiting him rather than a physical block then I am fucking delighted because, if that is the case then there is no doubt in my mind he will get over that hurdle. To lose Shawcross to injury at this point in time though would be one of the cruelest blows imaginable because, as defenders tend to enjoy their peak years around the age of 30 it may very well deny this team the chance to become the most successful in our club's history.

Criminal decision to bring him back this season, born out of desperation by a man who is clutching at straws, he could quite easily be putting Ryan's whole career at risk to cover his ineptitude as a manager to sign at least one proper CB this season.

We have to assume that he just needs a rest over the summer and go from there. I'd still like us to sign 2 first-team quality centre backs though just in case. The truth is Fergie fooled all of you. average at his best. Looked good in a Pulis team to people who don't know what a good centre half is Post of the year. Simply superb. Average? You must have been watching Ryans twin brother in a parallel universe the last 7 yrs....I really cannot believe the shite that you have just spouted. I'm going have a lie down in a dark room...your post has floored me.

But I repeat the rest was sensationalist bollocks Ok we got there eventually care to explain why he is been played when not fit when we have a fit CB sitting on the bench ? , have you any experience on the lasting effect of long term back injuries ?, I repeat Hughes is potentially putting his career at risk, he has fucked up the transfers this season especially CB's or the lack of decent one's.

He was wank today. His head went in the second half. He had that fall out with the Palace fans in the corner and gave the free kick away almost immediately. He let them get to him.
As for the you'll never play for England chants....he already has. Wankers.
