I must have missed the part where the replacement for this "Useless German" committed a silly foul to throw away a comfortable 3 points. I thought we drew ! Clutching at straws there pal The tackle cost us all 3 points, leaving us with just the one, not a hard concept to understand really.

Much better performance today. Perhaps we can now hang fire in sacking the manager for a few weeks eh?

In the last four games he has featured in we have conceded 14 goals, Hughes dropped him today as he did at the end of last season I wonder why he did that ? Then you have to make the point that Ryan also featured in 3 of those games, conceding 12 in 3. I find it hilarious how people still find a way to involve wolly in a thread when he hasn't even played. Hughes had to drop one of the CB's today and it was always going to be Wolly considering the other is our club captain. Ryan as most of us are aware is still recovering from an injury, he should not have been brought back this season the fact Hughes has chosen to play a half fit Ryan than a fully fit Wolfy says all I need to know, he is not good enough at this standard end of not his fault but the managers. If Ryan had broken down again today which was possible how would you explain the risk taken when you have a fit CB on the bench ?

In the last 4 games that Shawcross has played we have conceded 13 goals. I take it you will be asking for Ryan to be dropped for the next game then? Any other course of action would make you look like an agenda driven spunk puffin. H Shawcross should not have been playing for the last four games, he is still recovering from a recurring back injury and should not have been risked again this season, the fact chose to play him over a fit Wolfy speaks volumes.

Maybe Admin could create a new Philipp Wollscheid sub-board, where posters could start threads on any subject they like and then turn them into circular arguments about the Teutonic stopper.

We are 9th
Geoff will have to hold his hands up because trying to nip the ball away as he does do a lot but inside the box against a clever Defoe he needs his head looking at but the game AGAIN should of been out of sight. Imbula in particular but we showed some grit and passion today.
It was much better and Charlie motm for me.
Hughes in and anyone who thinks he should go is fuckin mental and wants Stoke city to fail.
Get real.
Go on Stoke

This wasn't actually a thread to have a go at Wollscheid but I suppose I did that. I posted a thread to defend Hughes after reading and listening to some ridiculous suggestions about him. I have at times lamented some things Hughes has done but overall, for me he is doing a good job. It has been a good season.
Anyway now you mention the " useless German " I'll tell you what I think of him.
He is not good enough at all. His positional sense is poor, he lacks pace and does not command like a centre half - he is not good enough, not at all. I think he is an unsettling influence on whoever he partners and Hughes hopefully now recognises all of this, I think we would all agree this is an area we need to improve in.
I will support him in a red and white shirt like everyone else, I always will. However I can spout what I think of him on here because I pay to watch him week in week out.
I just don't think you understand.

Or maybe Proboards could just sort out the issue of "ignored" posters still showing up in quotes.

In my eyes not a bad performance today. Defensively much better now that useless German has been dropped and plenty of hunger, another day we win this 2-0. Our luck clearly was out at the end but the improved performance is the bigger picture. The Manager should not be immune from criticism and in recent weeks he has deserved some, not only for some decisions but for the limp performances. However lets take the season as a whole - it has been without doubt a good one. Entertaining games, some good football and a strong squad has been assembled. Just be careful what you wish for. Bigger clubs than us are i deep shit - Clubs like Sunderland no less. Mark Hughes is the man so stop being so blinkered. Just remind me. Who bought that useless German!. Who bought Sonko and Danny Collins?

If Ryan had broken down again today which was possible how would you explain the risk taken when you have a fit CB on the bench ? You said it yourself, he should not have been rushed back, could you point my to the danger we were in when he was injured and wolly was a consistent performer in the team? Like I said before, Hughes was never going to drop the club captain or the guy he rushed back to play. If Wolly was not good enough then we would have conceded more this season and be in more of a danger, stop being so blinkered.

I just don't think you understand. I don't think he's "useless" but think he has got a few components missing from his game to make a top class Premiership centre-back. Will a centre half be a top priority for our manager this Summer.? If Hughes is still here next season it will be career defining.
