Can we attract some of the bigger names that are being talked about on other threads or has our calamitous run put an end to such lofty ideas?
"Transfer Market". Fuckeyed phone!

So poor recent form has no bearing on our ability to attract big name signings? They look at the bigger picture? Fair enough. Melt is a bit Scouse for an insult, isn't it?

Sorry I forgot to add a smiley! It was meant to be tongue in cheek not aggressive! It is? I picked up loads of their lingo at uni to be fair my house-mates are all from the merseyside (not Liverpool fans thank god)

Yes and no. It will make some of our lazy buggers look bad thereby reducing outside interest, while at the same time making us seem a much less attractive team to play for. Swings and roundabouts

I doubt it will. If we offer stupid money, which is the norm, then players will come. Plus they will see the injuries we have suffered from over the season. I've lost count but it seems when one payer has recovered another goes down with serious injury.

As Tony would say we let the big clubs eat first and we pick the scraps. The type of players we'll attract wouldn't be bothered by a late season slump I wouldn't have thought - as long as the money is there they wont care.

I think every club will allready be receiving several phone calls a week by players agents and this summer will see players from all over make a dart for the premiership gravy train as the mercenaries from all over suddenly want to sign for ( more 'sign' for and not necessarily 'play' for )normally unfashionable clubs.
Imo If we're smart we'll steer clear of the temptation and buy some of the best home grown prospects and steel that see stoke first team football as a step up and not a pay day. Add that to what we have and we could be into a winner

Yes and no. It will make some of our lazy buggers look bad thereby reducing outside interest, while at the same time making us seem a much less attractive team to play for. Swings and roundabouts Balanced as always KU, but 1 thing it may do is strengthen our need to add to the squad, if we'd finished well, it may well have led to a bit of complacency, and although form does not create a knee jerk reaction, our injuries, followed by an alarming dip in form should expose the fact that our squad is simply not strong in depth, our best 11 are as good as most, but our squad of 25 in a bit lacking...

Then there's the championship and again it's not my job to be aware of such players

Give me a 40 hour a week wage packet that matches my current wage and a company car & within a couple of seasons I'll be a walking encyclopedia on the development squads of all the teams in the top few divisions

I wouldn't have thought it would have any affect. Not getting into Europe probably keeps some players out of our range but that was always a long shot. Any further utter drubbings will certainly affect the general mood in the Summer though.

Charlie Taylor a left back and lewis cook DM are the two most well known at the mo.

"Come to Stoke and get injured, we have lots of fourplay, we don't play, the opposition score four" Not great selling points.

I think that any decent player would turn his nose up at us - we could be free falling and therefore no one would risk their career in coming here, unless they are in the dogs home already. We could have fucked it up for next year, but really, who knows?

Not at all. We won't buy a striker even if we finish top^ We bought one last summer, can't think of his name though, we still have Diouf who is now a winger, Crouch who hardly gets a game, SJW when he is not injured or on the wing Arnie if he does not fuck off in the summer, Bojan an occasional striker when fit so potentially we have enough , plenty of midfielders when they are fit, the defence is an absolute shambles and most of them are also unfit, four goalkeepers when fit.
