I'm embarrassed and worried.
I hardly dare say this, but I can see a manager change looming if this isn't turned round pretty quickly.

Could be the biggest post season in our history If we get the balance & signings right as soon as, then we could quite easily produce some of the football we were playing at the start of the season. However, the knives are most certainly being sharpened by what seems to be more people each week now, and it won't get any easier. LMH it's make or break time I bloody hope we won't produce again the football we were playing at the start of this season !!!!

Just need to not give up after conceding the first. Not that bad before that. If these 3 results were in isolation it'd be no problem, as it is they're one after the other. This is the problem, much as the 3 3-0 losses earlier in the season, we need a win to get some confidence back. Beat Sunderland (which incidentally I don't think we will) and it'll give them a kick back up. Sums up how bad we've been at times the second half of the season. Those 3-0's and now several 4 goal hammerings on the bounce. This is not on for an established premier league club. This didn't even happen to villa. There is a serious underlying issue there. There have been far too many thrashings

Sacking the manager would be stupid, but something is very wrong.
If we lose all the remaining games by similar scores, I could see Hughes resigning or being pushed.
I do think that if we end up in October with a run of losses, then it will get dicey for Hughes.

Just to bring some balance to all the negativity: Stoke had 14 shots today to ManC's 11. I don't know if that's good or bad, having not scored a single goal

This run does really make the summer purchases incredibly important. I kid you not, but I think we need 8 players, with the following as potential starters for next season. New full backs (2 off), as I am assuming GJ may have a tough time following his injury, Muni can't defend and Eric can't attack. Center Halves (2 off), Wolly's lack of pace has been totally exposed in these 3 games, and Ryan doesn't look half the player he was before his back injury, and after these 3 games, looks slow and clumsy. Glen W.has to be replaced now, the pace of the game seems to have passed him by unfortunately. Another Winger to replace Arnie, as he is likely to leave. An attacking midfielder unless Bojan recaptures consistent form in pre-season or early season. A forward who actually looks interested in playing in the box and scoring without needing 4 chances per game. Out should go Given,Muni,Wilson,Bardsley,Ireland,Whelan,Crouch,Adam,Ireland, one of Joseph or Diouf. Assuming we get £8m for Arnie, I reckon we would net £15m in total for sales, so the scouting team will have to pull some rabbits out of the hat. I am assuming that in the second season,Shaq and Imbula will play consistently well, otherwise it's a couple more needed.

Worried, no. Massive summer coming up, yes. A few players will be heading for the exit door and a few will be coming in. Apart from Afellay, all our current injured players will be back for the start of pre-season, right? We've missed them all.
On a brighter note, the last time we went on a string of 3 bad results we went on to 6 unbeaten from 7 games. Lets hope we can win the remaining 3 games and finish in a 'brighter' manner. Personally I think we will win the two home games.
Oh, and the Sparky doubters need to have a word with themselves. We're 10th, 6 points ahead of 11th (11th have a game in hand though). Potentially we just need to get ONE win and top half is confirmed along with our second highest point tally.

Slightly concerned yes. Massive panic and tantrums no. No point going over the reasons for concern - they have been repeated endlessly by others. I'll stick with the reasons we should not be having a massive panic right now.
1) The main reason we have failed to meet our high expectations this season is that we have faced the worst injury crisis of any team in the division. Outside the traditional top six, if most teams had the same number of injury problems we have had, they would be in a relegation battle now.
2) We are in tenth position on 47 points with three games to go. The 11th placed team are six points behind and in poor form themselves. We are probably about where we should be to be honest.
3) Liverpool are a better side than us, and so they should be. We came up against them just as they were finding some form. Tottenham are the best side in the league right now, they have much more to play for and they are bang in form. Manchester City are a much better side than us, also have more to play for and are also in excellent form having just thrashed Chelsea and knocked PSG out of the Champions League.
4) I'm not saying the players should give up and I don't think they have. But if you are up against a team which is chasing the title, or chasing a Champions League place, or fighting for survival, then you are inevitably not going to be as up for it. This is perfectly normal and unfortunately it is largely unavoidable.
5) This is the same team that won away at Anfield a few weeks back, the same team that drew at Stamford Bridge a few weeks back, the same team that destroyed Manchester City at the Brit earlier this season. Those performances rank as among the best Stoke performances I have seen since promotion. We still have that same team.
6) We have a good manager with a proven track record at this level and money to invest in key areas in the summer. The main weakness throughout the season has been the lack of a decent striker.
As far as I am concerned all of the above points are facts. They are not opinions. How you interpret those facts may differ, but most people on here are simply ignoring them.

I'm embarrassed and worried. I hardly dare say this, but I can see a manager change looming if this isn't turned round pretty quickly. I'm with march on this one. I'm getting worried now and something doesn't seem right at all at the club. We have played 13 matches since the League Cup match at Liverpool. We have won four, drawn two and lost seven of those 13 matches. One thing is the results - another thing is the way we have played. Yes, I know we have had many injuries, but so have other teams and our injuries are still no excuse for the 'slow motion-football' we have seen this season. Things need to turned around quickly now and that's the responsibility of Hughes. I've read on this mb that Saint Peter has handed over a lot of the handling of the club to Denise. If that is correct then I suspect that Hughes has to do something about this situation soon.
