Will this be the new nickname for the ground because the britannia was know as the brit?
What do you think it will be shortened to?

It's still the Brit and always will be to those who went from the first time it was built. The next generation will no doubt find a similar abbreviation for it and they'll carry it until it changes again in the future.
Funny when it was called the britannia stadium at the beginning I wasn't keen, as i was still missing the Vic, but over time you begin to accept it so to me it'll always be the Brit.

Am I the odd one out, or is this naming the stadium/ground a generation thing?
I have hardly ever talked about the ground by name during my 50 + years as a supporter. I've always said to the family or friends I was going "to Stoke", or "to see Stoke", or simply "to the match". They might ask "Where?" and I'd say "at Stoke" or wherever. I must have said it, but can't remember ever saying "I'm going to the Vic / Brit".

Glad it's not just me. I've never referred to it by any name other than 'the ground', 'the match' or 'Stoke', and I never hear anyone else do it either. Which is why I don't really see what all the fuss is about.

Agreed, since I was a kid it has always been "going down Stoke"...."see you out/inside the ground" or maybe "see you outside the Boothen/by the club shop" etc.

I never refer to the Brit unless I'm speaking to non Stokies. Like, 'yeah we beat them 2-0 at the Brit last season'. Now you mention it winning at the Betsy, erm no. It'll have to be 'yeah we beat them 2-0 at the Brit [insert number here] seasons ago'.

When do we ever meet at the brit?? The new name will be the same as the old name.....Pub!! What time are we meeting at the "pub"!

I always say "we played at home" or " at Stoke" As far as an abbreviation, how about "The Bet3"? Though I must say my own preference would be "The Slaughterhouse"
