Actually I've always called it the Brit in conversation and most of the fans I speak to, call it that - at least they do when they are talking to me. Funnily enough I often used to use the word ground when talking about the Victoria Ground - but not when talking about the Brit. Will you now call it the bet365 arena though? No - I'll probably carry on calling it the Brit as will most fans. I still can't see what Bet365 would lose by calling it "The Bet365 Britannia" that would have kept everyone happy and would have given their brand plenty of prominence.

Good news really especially with a corner filled in. Be good to move away fans to the new corner - always think it must be an encouragement to away teams to come out to their own supporters I'd put the away supporters in the most drafty and cold part of the ground. The new corner will only hold 1,800 fans. Clubs taking the larger allocation will be entitled to 3,000 seats so they would end up having to put 1,200 away fans in the south stand anyway. That is more segregation hassle for the club. The other thing is that they won't put the away fans next to the Family area for obvious reasons. Oh, and they said at the time planning permission was granted that the Family area would be moved southwards so that part of the family area would fill the new corner - freeing up full price seats in the DPD stand.

Also, people moaning regarding the payment. So our club is aligned more than it already is to one of the biggest brands on the planet and you think that's not going to reap massive rewards for the club?
Football has changed and some of you need to open your eyes up to it.

Good to see the corner filled in. I'm not bothered about the name change, but I would like us to get rid of the monstrosity of a club crest that we have and revert back to one of the old ones.

Now move the away fans to the NEW CORNER. Makes sense also help generate a better atmosphere, if you have ever been in the tunnel kick off, all you can hear is away fans. Next to the family stand, yeh perfect sense

.............God almighty it gets worse, goodbye Britannia hello Bet365 Stadium........just shows what the club ethos is based around, what was that Abba song? money, money, money, Perhaps the club could have done something that would take the fans with them like "The New Victoria Ground/Stadium" but no, its all about Bet 365........I stopped buying merchandise when they started plastering it with Bet 365 tosh, never did agree with gambling myself. I know they make a lot of money on the back of it but there is such a thing as balance. Like I said before, the Mrs and I are out after this season, and this is just another unpalatable ingredient in an already sour cocktail, make the Bet 365 Stadium a fortress next season boys and girls......maybe the Coates family will let you bet on the minute droves of fans start making for the exit......lol

EXCELLENT. Although I would prefer the bet365 coliseum Yep, totally appropriate and not before time either. But does this mean Leslie won't be able to blame the swirling wind for 20 yard gaps between defenders??

Thus is late capitalism fangy, go back and tell your mum and dad not to have voted for Maggie In the real world, Bet 365 is a better image than a defunct Building Society that overgrew, crashed and burned via a load of dodgy takeovers, plus it celebrates the hand that feeds us!

If you didnt see this coming you must have been walking around with your eyes closed. It was always on the cards. Britannia no longer exist.
What I've heard on this board is "fill the corner in, fill the corner in, we should fill the corner in, its an outrage we haven't filled the corner in".
So.....we fill the corner in. GREAT NEWS! "Yeah, but we've changed the name"
MOAN MOAN MOAN.

Who gives a monkeys about the name, it's not as though Britannia really had anything to do with the history of the club. Whereas we owe a lot to Bet365.

We need revenue and money flooding into the club by any means to keep up with the "big boys" and ensure our current status as a premier league club. As this new revenue stream is coming from a company born in stoke thought up by a man from Goldenhill who has returned our wonderful club back to it's rightful place I have no issues and will continue to go along with the other thousands of fans who turn up week in and week out!

I don't think anyone is up in arms about it are they? Just noting that it could have gone the way of other deals where the brand name shared billing with the original name of the stadium to keep continuity with the past. When you’re paying £30M quid for the privilege though, you can see it from both sides.
I don’t get this Britannia brand is dead argument either, it’s not like it doesn’t have connotations other than a grubby bank that stunk of piss opposite the old Longton Bus Station. It had a fitting personification that followed on from the Vic.

Filling in that corner - about bloody time......name - yuck! No surprise, but a little more imagination may have helped find a compromise more people would like.......Bet 365 Britannia, Bet 365 Victoria, Bet 365 Matthews?
As others have said, Coates has done that much for the club, he can call it what the hell he wants, and it does show the family are still committed to the club and remain so for the foreseeable future.
