This is all very well, but where will the scoreboard go? Replace it with a projection of Ray Winstone's head at half time.

Rubbish, corporate name, local but not evoking any history or tradition. Cheap; you can bet your bottom dollar bet365 haven't paid what others' have for naming rights, especially as it's effectively 'theirs' already! Unbalanced; so just one corner then? Leaving main stand high and dry? How very Stoke! Wow! Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning?

Any chance we might move the away fans into the new corner instead of giving them the prime, influential seats, right next to the tunnel? I doubt they would, keeping them at that end of the stand makes it easier to segregate outside.

I get the reasoning behind it but it's awfully generic, should be called the Bet365 bear pit
Britannia was a sponsorship deal but it still felt right, Bet365 stadium just seems out of place

Corners being filled in!. Has anyone seen any pigs flying over Stoke this morning? Says on official site so must be 100% safe to say it's happening at last .

Logical but shame to lose the name.
I hope the club do a few other things as well like a general "facelift", better protection from rain, move the location of the visiting fans, reduce queuing, make a serious effort in conjunction with the Council and police to improve logistics.
For me personally there needs to be a huge improvement in getting from and to Stoke station, the bus service is pathetic. If this problem was resolved, there would be more people outside the immediate area prepared to go/use rail and it would reduce the road traffic slightly. In fact we need to find an innovative way of moving a lot of people quickly from and to the centre of Stoke to and from the ground.

Neutrals moaning all over social media. As if the Britannia Stadium wasn't a corporate name to begin with. At least the Britannia sounds decent.

Shit name agreed .... However can we find any solice in the fact the it's a stoke born company owned by our Chairman!? Rather that than some far out company with no connection to the city.

This is all very well, but where will the scoreboard go? Presumably above the tunnel? It's an interesting question. I'm pretty sure that at some point in the past Scholes said that any scoreboard in the ground would always have to be in a position where it could be viewed from the main stand, as these were the premium seats in the ground. I wonder if they might try and incorporate it into the design of the new area?

Yeah i don't work in that area, the scary thing is the people that do have come out with the most boring mundane name since Mike Ashley renamed St James' Park

It's a shame they couldn't have gone the 'Cellnet Riverside' route and gone the Bet365 Brit but it's their choice not to dilute their brand in a 6 year deal. Modern fucking football, eh.

Any chance we might move the away fans into the new corner instead of giving them the prime, influential seats, right next to the tunnel? Exactly. It's now or never. There wil be some disruption/re-numbering of seats etc. while the building work goes on, so why not say that Away fans will get the corner + (what is currently) Block 35 and 36 if needed. Fans currently in those blocks get first shout at a seat move to the blocks by the tunnel. Sorted.

People don't like change. Some people just aren't happy unless they can carp, bleat and moan about something! It's inevitable the stadium was going to be named after Bet365. It's a sign of the times we live in where money dominates football. Not a great name but as others have said at least it's a local company that employs lots of local people. A neccessary evil.

I question the need to increase capacity what with all these whining bitches moaning about how shit the manager and team are. As these fucktards won't be turning up, surely we should be looking at reducing the capacity?

I'm just reading this whilst enjoying my Carlsberg and renewing my EA Games Access with my Barclay Card and although I'm not sure you can, I'm seriously thinking about buying some of that Gazprom energy. Of course I'm listening to the glorious 'Premier League Theme' which I listen to on a loop everyday, obviously.

Chelsea have two score boards, one hanging down from the stand in the way end and one on top of the stand the other side, maybe that could happen

The fact that people think its ok is very depressing too. Shows how low we have sunk in our thinking.

Mixed feelings on the ground renaming....thats all I can say really. Just happy where my team are and how far weve come. We have a fantastic owner who actually gives back to the fans. "Going watch Stoke" will always be "going watch Stoke". Its still The Bear Pit. Same bricks and mortar. Great news bout the corner being filled in. Long overdue
