Whether the players are carrying injuries, or just don't give a damn, some of them are clearly not pulling their weight. Oh for a winger who will take his man on, and a forward who actually will take a shot. Should be blooding Moha or whatever he is called, at least he will take his man on, even if the end result isn't the best. The two wingers were a complete liability last night.

Yes, 'Blood some youngsters' that'll solve all our problems.

Ireland is clearly off in the summer. Adam and Crouch most probably will be too.
Why not put at least one of Shenton/Lecygne/Telford/Moha on the bench?

Yes, 'Blood some youngsters' that'll solve all our problems. It won't but players will know they have to fight for their place, they seem as they don't care at the moment.

All part of an agenda against the manager. I said last week it's a festering under-current. Any stick and all that....

I'd play the exact same 11 at Man City and give them the chance to prove themselves and correct the awful performance from last night

All part of an agenda against the manager. I said last week it's a festering under-current. Any stick and all that.... You are paranoid fella. I have no agenda for one and wanted the capped one gone. But open your eyes. It was not just last night. Our style of play is for a bygone era, our manager as shown no inclination to play any kiddies (same as the last one) and our first teamers thinking walking football is acceptable We are frustratingly a good team on paper with two or three players away from something close to the 70's team and yet it feels now like we are moving the wrong way

They need to be good enough but you do get more hunger and desire from youngsters.

You know it, I know it. People can't wait to get on the back of the Manager - we've seen it for 3 years. No one can deny that, no one at all. As I said on another thread, the Manager needs to kick serious backside.

From what I have watched from the few under 21 games I have been to I don't think any of our young players are good enough / developed enough yet but we need to freshen something up in the team.

The first team appear to be on their holibobs or as was mentioned in the Chelsea game at the weekend, protecting themselves for the Euros

There is absolutely no harm in putting a couple of the younger lads on the bench ahead of Adam, Ireland and Crouch. It is likely that none of those 3 will be here next season.

The European dream was always a bit ambitious but now it's fair to say it's most definitely past us. We're now not playing for a great deal and the risks of experimenting with the team are honestly relatively low, we've liked drive recently and we've lacked energy too and I can't help but think some young players with something to prove would bring this in abundance for our final few games of the season.
I've never seen our youth teams play so I can't really comment on who it is we should play with any authority but the left back we played in some friendlies in the summer Joel Taylor I think it was looked pretty decent and Shenton is obviously supposed to be a bit of a prospect. Even Bachman could get some minutes under his belt. I just feel like we need a breath of fresh air in the team and this seems like a sensible way and time to go about it.

12pts still available.
still plenty to play for and how we finish this year could determine how well we do next year in terms of attracting new players and holding onto current ones......we could still finish 7th/8th and (forgetting the financial aspect of finishing higher up the table) that's FAR more attractive to players than a club who finished 14th/15th.
if you want to blood youngsters then do it in early cup rounds or even pre-season friendlies. no club just sticks them in during the season unless they're forced to because of injuries.

Few of those who watch the kiddies on a regular basis think that any of them are even close to ready for the first team. This is part of the reason why we have strapped up, given injections to, and otherwise cajoled and persuaded unfit and injured players to start games of late, which has no doubt contributed to some of the appalling results. Of any XI in the last few months, I feel that maybe as much as half of the team should not have started for one reason or another, and would not have done if a half decent replacement was available.

There's more chance of us getting a game than Hughes using youngsters. He's never used them throughout his career, it's not part of his mo. We've got 3 players on the bench who shouldn't have a future here and could be replaced by decent youngsters. Palace have put a 17 year old on the bench tonight. We've got the worst record for playing under 21s in the league. We haven't played a player under the age of 21! There's 2 with Chanpionship experience and one who could stop the splinters in Ireland's and do as a good job and get more from it. It's another weird episode of this weird season from the manager. Who I don't want sacked.
