on Friday night
Given that it's their first season down and that they have a good shout of the play offs (albeit they have gone massively off the boil of late) that is truly a piss poor crowd
I wonder how low our crowds would drop to in The Championship ? I'd be surprised and disappointed if they dropped below 20k in the first season 'back' but over two to three seasons ? I'm guessing around 15k would be about right.

I'd have thought 20,000 would be the best we could hope for if we got relegated, fingers crossed it never happens.
As for Hull, football is their second sport, it's all about the Rugby league and Hull FC played on friday so there may have been a few potential fans that went to that game instead.
That and it is one of the very few areas of the country that is poorer than our place so price of tickets could be playing a part too.

I reckon we'd be about at 20k in the first season and then it's drop and drop again. Another reason I'm not too warm re a new corner.

Just before Christmas in our promotion season. For a home league game against Norwich, we bagged a massive 11,404 home attendance
(I was one of them)
now there's 'piss poor' fellas !
SO
May I suggest slagging off other teams for achieving circa 15,000, attendances in the championship is
lets say 'unwise'
and Bayern -all putting a few extra seats in one corner does is
at least, to make the ground look finished on TV
The metaphore re ground capacity right now being -
other clubs are 'launching aircraft carriers' whilst we deliberate on whether to build a 'fucking rowing boat'

Denty
oops - sooooooo sorry my memory failed me so very badly - (its a crime y'know)2007–08 Stoke City F.C. season - Wikipedia, the free ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007–08_Stoke_City_F.C._season Lowest home attendance, 11,414 vs Queens Park Rangers (27 November 2008). I was ten people out - it was QPR - and it was November
point is made - we can be 'piss poor' too
And it wasnt on Sky THERE WERE NO EXCUSES !

Truth is right now
we've got about 15,000 solid - hard core supporters and about another 13- 15,000 'fair weather' fans
The second figure might be low given we can now knock out regulalr 20,000 plus season ticket figures
and -
when we go for cups, the numbers can increase - we know we've had 45,000 at Wembley twice - absolutely no problem
so the 'small potatoes' Britannia stadium expansion given, where we are right now - remains a 'no brainer'
We've just got to be honest about our own support and, not be too hasty to slag off the likes of Hull
'THERE BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD - GO I'

And would it? There are 3 open corners. That's a nonsense argument.

You cant see the other two open corners on Worldwide TV though (as a rule)
and at present, where the cameras mainly look - we got one open corner and, one arena style-
it looks quite frankly, unfinished and - embarrassing - half assed -
and
Not commensurate with the 29th richest club in world football
I SAY THESE THING TO POINT OUT THE HARSH REALITIES, IN THE HOPE SOMEONE IN THE CLUB MIGHT Actually REALISE THIS ALSO
I was asked this question continuously whilst watching a stoke game in West Indies one time
just why is that corner open ?

During the 1980's our home attendance's averaged just over 8,000 some seasons. Our bedrock support used to be about 12,000. But we could always manage 40,000 for Wembley appearances. If we were relegated it wouldn't be long before we were averaging below 15,000 for home games.

u've kinda contradicted ur own argument Tony whilst I agree with u about the corner, 11400 in our promotion season, 2 years following relegation thats where we will be and it will happen, one day

The argument is - we got a product - and we're shitting money and ground occupancy is over 97%
and repeat = the clubs shitting money
