Shock horror.....millionaire footballer in tax evasion scam. There are other footballers who fund charity football schools in Africa that are very dubious.

I suppose there must be others out there , but to make claims like this The Mail must be pretty sure of their story . But why haven't these other footballers "that are very dubious " come under the same scrutiny / investigation ? Surely we must not ignore them ?

Don't believe everything you read. I can't believe the article is still online, drogba has said he's taking legal action against them and fair play to him.

It's probably still online because they are sure of their facts . That's doesn't prove the case against him , but dispersing the funds sooner rather later given the dire poverty in the region I would have thought to be a main priority . He doesn't necessarily have to rely on third parties to do this either and why has he not used the poor kids themselves , instead of Ian Wrights grandkid (as alleged ) in the photo's ...that's a bit of a strange one . .?

Drogba has done so much for charities down the years over there, as do a lot of other footballers. Bellamy has his own academy in sierra leone too. If drogba was doing wrong, it would have come out a long long time ago. I've not read the article as I don't believe its true so don't know what they are claiming, but drogba has pumped millions into healthcare in ivory coast, built his own hospital, and wants do this all across Africa.

I saw Drogba interviewd on TV the other day. No money is missing... He just refuses to spend the money for the sake of spending it. That sounds a lot better to me than just wasting what people have donated to his charity. The Mail is a shit rag that will make mischief whenever it can.

There's a certain argentinian star who's currently under investigation for kids charities in his homeland where he's apparently taken profits, evaded tax and taken payments for charity appearances (despite the charity stating in legal documents when they were set up that he never would be paid for appearances)......funnily enough though certain global football bodies have done everything in their power to make damn sure the media cover it as little as possible. Funny how FIFA protect certain multiple ballon d'or winners who are poster boys for the sport yet happily let stories like this get out
