Lol Could have won by about 5 goals, first half was even but second half they weren't really in it bar a 10 minute spell Borini answering whether penalty was harsh; "No, he nearly broke my leg!" Agree it was a penno but second goal was a foul though in real time I thought Kirchhoff won the ball legitimately. You were lucky not to give away a soft penno. too. Overall, Sunderland played very, very well. You look a far stronger team than Norwich and indeed Newcastle. Like I said in a previous post, we got the rub of the green with some decisions today. We played a lot better in the 2nd half, all I hope is that gives us some confidence going forward and a bit more self-belief for the rest of the crucial games coming up.

We're still behind Norwich We got the rub of the green with decisions for the first time in a long time this season - still a long way to go and crucial games coming up; it's in our hand now though - we play our game in hand next Now I hope Swansea batter Newcastle (who have dropped Shelvey & Mitrovic). Nah mate, your team have the balls for this fight, the others don't.Still work to do but i would put my money on Sunderland staying up. We'll see mate, one of our more winnable games is actually against you lot which I'm coming down for - nerves are at a high for that one!

A winger with pace and a trick or two, he's young, energetic and can play on both wings. He's exactly the sort of player we need for the bench. Still don't rate him hes not clinical enough for a team with European ambitions, same as Walters IMO. We don't have one clinical player. He's not a striker anyway. I'd want him as back up for the wing. I'd want him because he's quick, direct and doesn't mind taking on his man. That sort of player is exactly what we need as the third winger.

Which is why I said Defoe in fairness we need 2 wingers if two of Walters, crouch or diouf leave.

The reason Newcastle will be relegated is because of Shelvey, incredibly lazy and it's probably the most important aspect of being a centre mid, especially one who plays balls from deep. The signing of Kirchoff for Newcastle would probably have kept them up, but newcastlr should be playing colback in centre mid as limited as he is. You've now got a disciplined enough team to survive and if you do signing just a couple of players would see you safe again the following season. Your biggest problem will be to replace your older players at a low cost.
