"Newham council has provided £40m, West Ham £15m, almost £40m comes from the original £9.3bn budget for the Olympics, and a further £25m from the government." How can it be right that a local council pay substantially more towards the conversion than a multi million pound football club? Because West Ham once won the World Cup.......

That running track.....yuck. Can't they cover it up? Kills the atmosphere having a running track. Fans too far from the action.

It's going to be interesting to see how the atmosphere changes, certainly after the novelty wears off. Looks like they're pretty much going to sell out every game - so fair play for the pricing policy that's made that possible. Visually though, they could do with covering up the track on match days. It just looks so wrong for an English stadium

In football mode it'll have the cable ties & breeze blocks retractable seating 'out', so it'll look like this... (Minus the rugby posts obviously!)

Here's a better view. The ground gets split in half when in football mode, with a huge gap between the upper & 'out' lower tier.

How can it be right that a local council pay substantially more towards the conversion than a multi million pound football club? Because the Olympic Park Legacy Company, government and mayor of London insisted that they could retain the stadium for multi use when everyone else knew the only viable option was a football stadium. But to prove a very expensive point, they built a multi purpose stadium instead of 1 with a football stadium in mind once the olympics had gone.

The chicken run is now the hippo run looking at that space.
