I think Ibby is an excellent player.
Once Arnie is fit, I would have Bodger in the number 10 position, Ibby on the right and Shaq on the bench contemplating winning his place back.

Since coming into the side though we've been dull as dishwater, slow, pedestrian, not that much of a threat (especially at home) etc etc etc. I'm not sure you can level that exclusively at Affelay's door. The lack of movement from the front man and the lack of pace from wide are the biggest factors in our SOMETIMES pedestrian approach, particularly at home. We don't have players who stretch the pitch sadly and that isn't a job that Affelay is tasked with doing. Affelay, for me, looks to be positive, to pass the ball quickly and interchange in position, but the rest of the team, particularly with wide men that usually always cut inside, don't really present the options for him to be more dynamic. It is very harsh to lay the teams perceived problems at Affelay's door given that he's been amongst our better performers in what ultimately has been a very inconsistent season in terms of actual performance. In terms of results, the season is remarkably consistent with previous years. We are currently tracking 2 points ahead of last season, with a worse goal difference and a draw at home to Spurs would see us on the exact same number of points from the same fixture set as last season. That is remarkable consistency in its own right. Afellay has great passing accuracy, second best in the division before yesterday, which is all the more impressive given he looks to play forward. He is not the problem in midfield, he has added dynamism we didn't have and since Imbula came he has been able to do kroe closer tot he opposiiton goal. However, next season I think it is 2 of 3 from Afellay, Bojan and Imbula with a new more mobile defensive midfielder. A good problem to have assuming Bojan comes back fully firing. I would use Afellay and Imbula in difficult away games but generally would go with Bojan for his greater creativity accepting he gives us nothing defensively.

Given the lack of cover elsewhere.. our richness in attacking midfielders is borderline embarrassing. Is Charlie Adam now our 5th choice for that spot..? One things for sure, its time to reduce the wage bill...

I think Imbula coming him has displaced him and I'm now not sure what his best position is. He likes to run with the ball and I think he's restricted in doing that as much now.
