It was a jokey post cus you've been moaning about Grandaddy. There's nowt wrong with Dire Straits apart from for you they've probably been successful
Here's something that's not Grandaddy so stop your moaning.
I know, just can't tell whether you're being cryptic or subliminal. Get some Jason Molina, Songs:Ohio, Magnolia Lighting Co. onto yr Dansette mate. Here's one we can agree on.

Oh yes we like future President Bush. There's plenty we agree on mate, well, I like the majority of your musical musings at least. Have a block re Ed Sheeran {disappointingly yr prediction of him being on me {pub} jukebox came true on sat night. I was informed that he's got something like 16 songs in the chart, I heard three and thought they all sounded the same, and not quite sure what to make of Alt-J. I really liked Grandaddy {first album} but most I've heard since is a bit samey, a bit too formulaic to pique continued interest imo. Opininions and that, I was on Cheggars Plays Pop though so I do feel a sense of superiority when it comes to musical 'correctness'. Yo La Tengo are currently ranking high in the cheees rotation. Saw them live at a DeMonfort Summer Sundae festival a few years back, knowing absolutely nothing about them and was hooked. Brilliant live without me knowing any of their tunes, which is unusual, usually need a couple of familiar songs to fully engage.. Yo La Tengo 'Prisoner of Love' a kind of retrospective is a pearler worth exploring imo.Loads going on, different moods etc. Are you familiar?

The lad played the last Ed Sheeran album to death and I got to know all the tracks which were to a high standard. As he now spends time in his own car without me I don't hear so much of the new album. What I have heard sounds poor and formulaic.
The last time I was at De Montfort was about 4/5 years back at a B&S concert. I remember this track being outstanding and the mate I was with being rather taken with it.

[/quote] I understand Ed is very now, he's just got no place in my ears, the one about his Irish lass is dross. Never seen B&S live, other than youtube, more of a funky proposition with the brass etc than I'd imagined. Great band and that's about me favourite of their albums, {though that's not me fav track off it.} The Summer Sundae was great, a civilised fest. Outdoor and indoor stages, saw some great stuff. From Hot Chip to Patti Smith with all sorts in between... These were a highlight, Art Brut..
