2016 Major season starts next week. Can't wait. Always the best major.
Ireland's best golfer disrespecting his sport and the tradition as par for the course.
"Rory McIlroy has announced he will miss the Par 3 Contest before next week's Masters in Augusta to concentrate on winning the year's first major.
The Northern Irishman described the event, which takes place the day before the first round on Thursday, 7 April, as "just too much hassle"."
Anyone but him please

There's a young lad called Mat Fitzpatrick who in 2 years has turned pro and won on tour and is now in the top 50 WGR playing who could be well worth a top 10, as far as winning it Stenson and Koepka could be a good bet.

Each way bets on Adam Scott and Justin Rose for me.
Jason Day will take some beating though as he is in the former of his life.

Great, great tournament. I don't play golf, but this is a gem. Jason Day for me, but I would like either Danny Willetts or Justin Rose to win it.

All the hype around Day & McIlroy has meant that Jordan Spieth has almost become a forgotten man, so he'll happily have my money on him. Previous winner Zach Johnson looks a nice eachway bet, and I'm sure Sergio Garcia will be somewhere in the top 20 come the end, so he's another eachway for me.

I've already backed Stenson and Oosterhuizen, looks like Stenson could win at Houston today, I hope not as people winning 2 weeks running is a big ask.

The story of the pre-tournament fun happened yesterday; Gary Player hit a hole in one in the Par 3 Contest.
He's 80 years old - apparently now the oldest person to notch a whole in one. Amazing.
Possibly also the luckiest - check the distance covered by the ball after it lands.

After I made an amateur mistake on bet365 the day before the US open, when I mistakenly backed Jason Day - for augusta 2016 - and didn't find out until I enquired where my USA open winnings were - I at least have 20-1 chitty for the man. So have to hope he pulls off the double!

Been playing the game now for 30 odd years, never had one, and never seen one with playing partners, I did once slam dunk from about 120 yards, straight in the hole, no bounce, sadly not for eagle, never had one of them either...
