Absolutely must win this game to keep in the battle for Europe.
Even if we win we can only move up 1 place at best if Southampton fail to win at Leicester. Conversely if we win and WHU and ManU lose, we could be 1 point from 5th place amazingly!
Undoubtedly Swansea will come and "park the bus" and hope sneak a wining goal. Swansea may be 15th, but they have only conceded 3 more goals than us. So it going to be tough and we have to be patient and try and work an opening. This could be a good game to try an aerial attack and use the likes of Crouch.

I'm not sure Swansea do "parking the bus" very well. They are not the force they were in attack, but they still don't look fully equipped to park the bus. And the fact that we will have either Haugaard making his Prem debut, or Given in his first game for 5 months, in goal, will surely mean that Swansea will feel attack is their best option.
Should be an interesting game - and, as said above, there really is a lot riding on it, especially if any of our fellow European contenders slip up.
GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN STOKE!

I'll be really pissed off if Given starts. This is the right time for Haugaard to stake a claim just as Butland did when Bego was injured.

I really can't believe I'm saying this but I think, based on last game performance, Bardsley deserves to keep his place, whether Johnson is fit or not. As regards, Ryan, if he's 100% fit he plays but I really hope he is genuinely 100% fit and not risking his future by coming back too early.

I agree maybe give them another week unless they're 100 percent fit. Great news though.

So we play a makeshift team and confuse the opposition. It worked at Watford. Wouldn't even risk shawcross.

There must be questions over Geoff too after playing twice for the U.S. v Guatamala after this seasons injury issues.
I think we'll go
Jakob
Bards Phil Muni Eric
Whelan Imbula
Arni Bojan Afellay
Joselu

I know Bojan hasn't been in top form of late however it would be great to see him having a start. The guy is a genius as we know but I think he needs time on the pitch from the start.
Sad to see Walters out.????

Despite a long injury list, we can still put out a very strong side.
What a difference to 3 years ago.

I'd play afellay wing, with bojan in the middle, but i have a feeling hughes will play Diouf on the wing and keep Bojan on the bench.

I wonder if Diouf's trip from Africa and likely two games in a few days will mean he'll be benched?
I think we'll see Joselu in front of Arnie Bojan and Shaq or Afellay. Must win game!
Equally Geoff might be rested. That would be a mistake I think.
And we surely have to put Afellay in somewhere? Might this be the sort of game to rest Whelan?
I'd go:
Haugaard (needs games as we can't rely on Given lasting even if he plays a couple when more match fit)
Bardo Cameron Wolly Muniesa (Pieters another week to recover)
Whelo Imbula
Arnie (sub early to rest when we are 3 up ha ha as if) Bojan Afellay (give Shaq another week off before the really tough run)
Joselu
Adam needs game time from the bench at least, I reckon his eye for goal might be a match winner)
Manage three points here and hopefully get a shed load of players back for the three games of death to come.
