: Here we go again, on the verge of something big, and we lose Jack for the season, the same after the Bolton drubbing at Wembley with Pennant and Huth

We're too inconsistent for Europe, don't worry. There's nothing to throw away. If we get 8th-10th it's a successful season.

Ha ha...that's one option I suppose. Just think though, with all the bad luck this season with injuries that will mean we have very few next year as these things equal themselves out supposedly. Therefore, get your money on Stoke for a season like Leceister's next year.????

: Here we go again, on the verge of something big, and we lose Jack for the season, the same after the Bolton drubbing at Wembley with Pennant and Huth It was Etherington and Huth. And the injuries started before the Bolton match when we lost Fuller and Higgy for the rest of the season. As far as this year's assault on Europe is concerned, we may be too inconsistent, but with a fully fit Shawcross in the side all season, I'm fairly sure we'd now only be a couple of points off a Champions League place, or nearer.

What really killed us in the cup season was the lack of options.
He wasn't the best I know but having Tuncay on the bench instead of Danny Pugh could have made a massive difference. It was a daft bit of business.
This season is just a continuation of last with injuries.

The lack of wingers is a bigger issue.

Yes Jose & Walters have steadily improved, desperately need Jose to step up; but I can't see his impact more than Pelle @ Soton. If it's the same from our strikers, it'll be top 10 at most. Nowt wrong with Shaq & Arnie But we can live without backup for our Balkan Brothers...

I'd agree with that CD, my thinking of no cover for Shaq/Arnie is that I don't reckon uncle Peter can stretch to 3 top quality players (inc a marquee signing) in the Summer. These 3 NEED to be top men, not squad players. Here's to the LMH bargain basement (Maybe Traore would want to play for us after Villa go down? Nice stadiums are not so nice outside the Prem...)

I don't agree about the squad players thing. The winger wouldn't be purely back up, they'd get plenty of football. We'd rotate and have the option of moving one of Shaq or Arnie (in the unlikely event he stays) inside, it'd give us loads more options. Traore looks promising but also a bit of a kick and rush merchant. And he's on a daft wage. Redmond would cost a fair bit but he's got loads of potential. Otherwise we go abroad again you'd think?

Feel for the lad with the Euros so close and he's had a brilliant season for us.
But
He's been a bit dodgy the last couple of games. At fault for Southampton's second and should have done better with Watfords goal.
Haugard deserves his chance just wish it wasn't in these circumstances

The only time I would have an Exorcist at Stoke, is if Pulis ever came back.
