From Leeds. The gossip page on the BBC says we are looking at a £10m move for him according to the Sun. Anyone know who he is? Us and Everton interested.

According to Football Manager Leeds have quite a few good young players (Cook, Mowatt, Taylor & they had Byram) but in real life Leeds are pretty shite.. Something's not right.

My old man is a Leeds fan, says Cook is a good tidy footballer Got a bit of pace and is wasted in a very poor Leeds team, £10 million is a hell of a lot of money though Not been proven at a higher level, if we could get him cheap he'd be ideal to help develop and fill in Whelan's role

The kind of signings we should look to be making.

£10m's a bit steep for me, even if we should be buying younger home grown talent. £6-7m is more likely.

He's a decent player and would play in the Whelan role, currently I'd put him just a bit behind Whelan but he scores more goals. Give him half a season here and he would take Whelan's place

If he was to have half the career at Stoke as Whelan as had, £10 million would come to represent considerable VFM.

Where's my prize? The opportunity of winning the prize of a packet of pork scratchings, plus a PVFC season ticket thrown in as a bonus, has now expired, unfortunately. You had to submit your answer by 5.00pm. Soz

I'm not sure what kind of a midfielder this youngster is box to box, attacking, wide, water carrier or defensive - all ways round he will have to develop considerably if we are thinking of him as a Whelan replacement not least because he lacks the strength and aggression at the moment.
One for the future may be but potentially an expensive flop - given our "experience" in developing young players I would aim for someone a little older and with more experience

Surely we must have an under 21 player who in a year or 2 could challenge for a midfield place saving a shed load of cash?

£10m seems a hell of a lot for an unproven Champiponship youngster. Even if you look at the likes of Bale and Walcott who lit up the Championship at younger ages than Cook, they were more well known at 16/17 than this Cook seems to be at 19. Maybe that's just my mind playing tricks though seeing as we were in the same division when those two emerged, maybe in actuality very few Premiership club supporters were paying attention.
Whatever the club do I will have the utmost trust but maybe that £10m is a deliberate oversell of what they'll actually take, and what they'll actually accept could involve some performance related clauses. If that is the case then it offers the buyer insurance and it shows the seller has confidence in the asset they are trading.

Very highly rated, but not the finished article yet. If we could get him in and groom him, he would be a ready-made replacement for Glenn Whelan (but not for a few years)

Not seen anything memorable from him to have an opinion, but for that money surely we can sign a vastly more experienced player and also see if Molina or shenton are good enough to come into the mix over the next couple of years....

For what it's worth I rate him and I'd say we could get him somewhere between 5-10 million, may get him for a bit less if we loan him back for a season..which would also give him more experience.
