Wilko was always going to score People were always going to go on the pitch.
Only an idiot would have thought otherwise.

Of course it was always going to happen. I haven't got a problem with that.
But then there should be a lap of honour for all the players that made the effort to come.
And then more importantly, a lap of honour and send off for Wilko.
They must have asked the fans to leave the pitch a dozen times. And they just stood there like fucking idiots.

They should have organised a speech from a box like when we got promoted. The club knew this would happen

All of the players got massive individual ovations when they came on and off - even Kitson - and it's not just that the club was expecting it, everyone shook hands and left the pitch as soon as the penalty went in. Most of the players came onto the pitch afterwards to chat with supporters and so on, anyway. Come on mate, treat yourself to a night off.

I went on the pitch. Had a wander around the penalty area.. Came off after 2 minutes and waited for the lap of honour that never happened. Poor planning really by the club. The stewards stood about gormless barely even trying to get anyone off

Other than getting heavy handed which the ocassion doesn't call for what could they do?

I made out "players" but no other words. I figured they were asking fans not to follow players down the tunnel. The second call was slightly more audible, but was still very quiet. genuinely, all the singing and chanting, I did not hear multiple requests. I certainly didn't hear the lap of honour mentioned at all.

Were you one of the knuckle dragging idiots who thought it was Christmas day because they got to stand on the pitch? did you even go mate? Yes. I watched as the guy on the tannoy kept saying "get off the fucking pitch" and all the people on the pitch said "fuck off, this is the best thing that's ever happened to us, so we're going to ruin the night for all the ex players". Fucking pathetic. Well done

Definite penalty and Wilko stepped up to bury it for Stoke's 6th. Player and Manager ratings to follow Gouranga.

I had no problem with people going on the pitch. As WD says the same salivating morons thought it'd be best to stay there, fuck everyone else.
They made 2 announcements that the players would do a lap of honour when the pitch was clear among the 5-6 requests to leave to pitch. I hope the excitable pricks are happy with themselves.

Fantastic night, great atmosphere, superb to see some of the old guard back and my personal favourite steino. The players and crowd all running on at the end was fantastic. A great send off for a great lad. A superb night with loads raised for two great charity's

Pitch invasion was great as well, I liked the look of Stokes number 9 and 42 they were all over the pitch I've never seen a Stoke player move so fast, it was almost like there was 2 of them playing. A great chance to resurrect some old songs and see some old faces playing, the memories that came flooding back could have bought a tear to ever the hardest of hardcore fan. A great night to finish the season off with. Gouranga.
