I as a Brazilian fan of Port Vale and other supporters of Port Vale in Brazil, wanted very much to see the club in the second division, even though I think it would be downgraded, it would be good for Stoke have a nearest rival, would not let Stoke City staying on being the best in town, I see the two clubs playing one day.

I fully respect you for supporting that shower of shite, it's easier for people abroad to support a glory team eg Chelsea, Man City and so on, so full marks there. But to suggest that we'll be playing Vale one day competitively, I had to laugh out loud.

A mente encanta.

You have to grudgingly admit that, despite the complete chaos off the pitch (caused entirely by their arsehole of a chairman), Rob Page has done a great job getting them into this position.
The problem is, if they do get promoted to the Championship they will just become cannon fodder without some real investment.
My hope is that they miss out on the play offs and that they fail to find a buyer for the club!

The thing about Vale is, when I was a silly teenager and they were pushing for the League 1 playoffs whilst we were in The Championship, I desperately craved for them to get promotion so that the attention would be focused on our great city. In the time since those days, they were at one point a lowly League 2 side whilst we've become an established top-flight club and a globally recognisable symbol for our city.
That foolish, childish fantasy has long been replaced by cold, hard logic. The only way we could realistically play a league match against port vale again is if we get relegated at least once, and most likely twice. This city is the smallest in England to host two professional clubs. This leads to an unfortunate pendulum effect in that the relative success of each club is uniquely connected to the regression of the other. The conurbation is simply too small for both clubs to receive adequate simultaneous support. For one to succeed the other must suffer. It's very harry potter-esque but it's an unavoidable reality.
This won't sit easy with many on here and I am sorry for that because I'm not one who takes pride in causing unease, but more importantly I'm not somebody who is prepared to turn away from the truth no matter how much discomfort it causes. I'm fully aware that there are Port Vale supporters who love their club unconditionally just as we love ours, and I know that if Stoke City was to cease to exist then a huge part of myself would be plunged into the same pit of oblivion, never to see the light of existence again. It's a dark realisation in me, but the only conclusion I can now draw is that Port Vale must die, and they must die soon. The limit of my compassion stretches only far enough to hope that their death comes abruptly. For too long now they have flailed against the fading embers, somehow miraculously finding just enough heat to keep their sad story burning for a few more years. It's horrendous and disturbing viewing to watch them suffer against the tsunami of inevitability. They must die.
