I have seen a few of their maches on BT sport this season, always a full house and great atmosphere, not bad for the 2nd division.

Their support is immense. It's like a party even if they are getting dicked! Reminds me of the old ground and the decent support we had then *sigh*

Whilst I have a St. Pauli hoodie, other anti-fascist football fans exist, although I can't think of any quite as high profile.

I was there for the game on Friday night against Paderborn, with my cousin who is currently studying in Hamburg. It finished 4-3 to the visitors who had the shackles off after sacking Stefan Effenberg and were much, much better than St Pauli on the night.
We stood on the terracing behind the goal, where we were allowed to enjoy a beer or three. Tickets were €12.50 and there were 28,800 in attendance. The atmosphere during the match was alright (especially from the travelling fans, who were excellent), but it was even better outside before the game, where thousands upon thousands made their way through the Hamburger Dom funfair with bottles of beer in hand, St Pauli scarves and fanzines.
I dunno who advised you Mickmillslovechild, but Hamburg is one of the safest, richest and most open-minded cities in Europe. In fact, the Reeperbahn and Grosse Freiheit are just about the only places you might bump into any trouble - and that only being some pissed up lads on stag dos.
I couldn't agree more with the other posters in saying it is a fantastic city and I'd recommend anyone with a free weekend and 150 quid pocket money to make the short trip to Hamburg and support FC St Pauli.
