It's a shame as, like a lot (not all*) of European managers, he wears managerial style well; confident haircut, open black Puffa coat revealing large loosely knotted tie, crisp white shirt. One can only wonder who has pissed up his Puffa and told him its raining. *Wenger dresses like a woman in drag.

Sounds like there's been some interference from on-high as well as bust ups with the players. Downing is apparently the chairman's favourite. Jordan Rhodes was reportedly not the striker the manager wanted but is Agnew's nephew.

Never heard of a manager going AWOL before. You obviously weren't around when Brian Little was our manager. He went AWOL most weeks.

Odd, if that is the case, as Gibson is usually reckoned to be one of the more level headed and likeable club owners and has no history of bust ups with his employees. It will piss me off if Boro don't get promoted, as they would be my nearest Premier League ground and their promotion would make up for the (almost inevitable) loss of Newcastle or Sunderland which are the two nearest away games for me at the moment.

Boro do this every year, start off so strong and then tail off.
Admittedly the manager doesn't go AWOL but it'll be the same result likely: Boro getting play offs and fucking up.

Two stalwarts from the Barnsley side of the late 1980s who always used to beat Stoke. I wonder if David Currie was the stepdad.

Strange is that Jordan Rhodes has pelratically never been called up for Scotland, but in my Football Mamager Career is the best Scotland goalscorer for the National Team in History

In a way I can understand Karanka.
He's a young manager achieving a lot of success with his team 5 points clear at the top of the Championship and heading towards the world's top league, huge financial boost, and possibly the only Prem club in the football fanatical North East next season. Then suddenly it implodes with the team thinking the job's done and relaxing and losing to lowly teams. He has clearly had an issue with the players response on the training field and feels he is not in control of the situation for whatever reason. He must be gutted and massively depressed.
An analogy: Stoke win 3 matches in succession, go to the champions who have recovered some excellent form and get a draw; then they lose with a poor display when all were hoping for a victory and push for Europe. Guess what? There are a lot of people on Oatcake who can't take the disappointment and start attacking anyone and everybody. Even young Imbula got it in the neck for a poor game on Saturday; we need to live with failures and disappointments, it happens.
If our disappointment is hard to bear after just one loss, imagine how Karanka is feeling when his players are failing to respond positively to his management and his world is disintegrating.

Rumours of mischievous troublesome insiders, factions, and favouritism towards their Spanuguayan players.
