All my musical likes are dying this year It's been a tough year so far mate. I'm not go and sit down and cry about death because it's inevitable but I was very sad when Frey died because the music was part of my life for so long These musicians who are basically the sound of your life die and you question your own mortality

It's been a tough year so far mate. I'm not go and sit down and cry about death because it's inevitable but I was very sad when Frey died because the music was part of my life for so long These musicians who are basically the sound of your life die and you question your own mortality The kind of music you like shapes your life ....when one of your favourite musicians passes on ....it enevitably leaves you with a sad and hollow feeling ...something has gone from from your life that can't be replaced , only the memories remain ......and the music that made them .

Reported as suicide gunshot to head. I feel terribly sad coming here and reading this. I idolised ELP as a kid and music like their's was the backdrop to a life that was much happier and simpler back then. I saw them on their Brain Salad Surgery tour at Trentham, which still stands out as one of the best gigs I ever went to. One of the first things I did was put some ELP on and spooked myself by hearing the lyrics to 'Lucky Man' A bullet had found him His blood ran as he cried No money could save him So he laid down and he died Ooooh, what a lucky man he was Ooooh, what a lucky man he was Hope you find peace now Keith

RIP Oh dear didn't know until I saw this thread just now. I too was at the Brain Salad Surgery gig at Trentham Gardens. My favourite ELP 'song' to this day is Karn Evil 9 First Impression, which they played that night. A remarkable piece of music. I did actually play the whole of the Pictures At An Exhibition album this morning, not knowing Keith had died. RIP

RIP Keith Emerson, the show just ended Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends We're so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside There behind a glass stands a real blade of grass Be careful as you pass, move along, move along Come inside, the show's about to start Guaranteed to blow your head apart Rest assured you'll get your money's worth Greatest show in Heaven, Hell or Earth You've got to see the show, it's a dynamo You've got to see the show, it's rock and roll, oh Right before your eyes we pull laughter from the skies And he laughs until he cries, then he dies, then he dies
