Hughes seems to be able to convince these top Euro players to join us he did it with Bojan and Shaq and now Imbula. Its not an easy task and his success seemingly is on a par with the great Waddo who convinced Huddy to move to unfashionable Stoke from the Kings Rd and was a whisker away from signing Osgood too. Even though he doesn't provide the extrovert antics many managers employ to give themselves a high profile, Hughes goes about his job very professionally and to use one of his own favourite words...he looks a very accomplished top premier manager.

More than anything Hughes seems to be a real people person, he takes a very personal approach to managing which current players and future signings latch on to straight away, we need to get him in a room with Messi ASAP

No doubt he treats them like men and trusts them to play football.

More proof that we are becoming a really good settled yet progressive club with really decent players and a great "vibe" around the place.

2 things spring out to me about that article......firstly having someone like Diouf helping will also help Diouf himself...good team bonding going on there....
Second - the banner at the bottom "Join us for the next chapter"....that just screams 'potential' to me
HAPPY DAYS !

Interesting that Hughes spoke to his father first. Wasn't that a tactic used by Sir Alex?
The club also now seem to have their ear to the ground when it comes to finding unsettled players. We're still a dogs' home, but bloody hell, look at the pedigree.

I fucking love Mark Hughes. I do, but more often than not his tactics baffle me, especially his subs.

We're still a dogs' home, but bloody hell, look at the pedigree. Ferguson always made sure the mother was on board. She was always key, apparently.

You can tell Hughes was a top player himself with how he handles transfers and the players themselves, he knows how they're thinking and what they want to hear. It's a class above.

Good to read that Diouf is helping him to settle in. That will help Diouf get over his own personal problems.

"I had a really good feeling when I spoke to him and I was happy to come here and play for Stoke City, who are a big club in the Premier League."
