Yes but those two restaurants in Costa are possibly better than any in Playa Blanca and so are worthy of a recommendation ," La Bohemia " is Argentinian and the steaks are outstanding as you would imagine .....keep looking over your shoulder you will know me when you see me Won't be going in the foreseeable I'm afraid. Had a little place of our own in Parque Holandes but unfortunately things didn't work out. It was in part of a complex which was supposedly being renovated. Ours was one of the first to be done and i jumped in blinkered as the price was so low. Couldn't really stay for long periods of time due to work commitments and parents ill health. Very difficult to put up as a holiday let when we weren't there because the renovation of the other property's was virtually non existent. My lady wouldn't let anyone we knew go over and stay as she said it was embarrassing and I suppose she had a point. We even chose to stay in other accommodation in the area when we went over in January to try and sort a way out to sell it. Fortunately the developers have made us an offer to buy it back which won't leave us that much out of pocket. The next time I'll probably dip my toe back into the market will be when I retire, that's if im not skint. That's unfortunate for you , I'm sorry that things did not work out for you in the way that you would have liked , you never know though you might feel able to give it another go in the future , but in my opinion unless you can utilise property for at least three or four months in the year threre isn't much in buying one , far better to rent.

To be honest I'm glad it's turned out the way it has. Only really jumped in hoping to make a quick buck once the place had been spruced up and all apartments taken. Plus we both agreed we didn't want to feel obligated to keep on going back to somewhere that we weren't really that keen on. I'd be bored to tears or probably have cirrhosis if I was to be there for long periods of time anyway. There's places in Corralejo that have happy hours at 1€ a pint from 11 til 6 in the winter months and I bumped into the same ex-pats doing the same route every single day. your not wrong about rental by the way, in January we stayed at a place called Maxorata Beach which cost us 70€ each for the week. It was clean and if you don't mind feeling that you've been transported back to 1980 and taking over the top security measures every night it's great

Sometimes it's a bit difficult not to fall into the trap when you've just come back off a 2 month stretch working in Saudi Arabia though bish. And if you think the Guardia civil are bad, you don't want a run in with the religious police I can assure you.

If I did move I expect it would be extremely difficult to find a place with a big enough garage to house my T34 ....although I might consider scaling down to a BMW motorbike and sidecar mounted with a machine gun on the back .....

My African adventures may have come to an end . I definitely won't be going to Eygpt anymore as that place could erupt at anytime and for any reason . I expect places like the Canaries and even Malta will do extremely well for tourists from now on . All for the sake of medieval extreme religious practise ....."make believe " shit in this very year 2016 . Cant someone tell the puddled bastuurds that there are more important things in life ? Is it any wonder that in certain quarters people have come to hate and despise religious gospels etc ....

You are right about the Canaries ......the prices are rising there in anticipation already .....there is a lot to be said for being an athiest , although that doesn't guarantee protection from a bullet or a bomb.

My mate , "Gazman " has had to pay £ 950 for two return flights in August to Tenerife ....and on top of that he has another £1000 in maintenance to pay for his timeshare .....
He must be mad . He could have sold it 5 years ago . He paid £5000 for it 20 years ago .....and that's only for a week . It's cost him a fortune .

I know what the prices are like now .....but he ought to hang fire before booking , it's far too early to be booking your flights for August now , best to leave it for a couple of months at least , the price will definately come down ....it's a case of looking and catching them at a good price . I'm glad I was never tempted to invest in a timeshare , they are to limiting and relatively expensive for what you get out of them .

I should think that's 100% certain for a lot of people . We are looking to go out to Cyprus in early April to visit our daughter , the prices are colossal at the moment , it's just a case of going onto the Internet every day until you see a good price and booking before they put up,again , something normally turns up if you are vigilant enough .

When you look at the bigger picture , IS is responsible for the catastrophic decline in tourism and financial shortfall in economies that again can and is destabilising many different countries economies and no one can stop them . They have to be simply starved and bombed out of existence if the world can ever return to some semblance of peace and stability. It's sphere of influence and damage is like a virus and extends almost across the whole globe . The costs involved in all this are phenomenal , from extra security, to cyber warfare protection ...to increases in armed forces . And for what ?
Is it all about religious indoctrination or simply a hatred for Western values and historical dominance in relation to world affairs ......
Who are the backers of this multi national terrorist organisation ?
Who are the "men at the top " ?
Is there a new 'Bin laden' out there who our security forces have not bothered telling us about in case it causes yet more instability and fear on world stock markets .
It's all getting very very complicated and the waters have become very muddy from Syria to Afghanistan and Pakistan to name just three ....
All this coming at athe same time as a major refugee crisis in Europe and tensions in the Ukraine still burning in the background .
Weird .....isn't it ?
Can any conclusions be made out of all this ?
Where do we go from here ?
