He's been past his sell by date for a long time now. Seems to me he might have personal problems going on in the background. He doesn't look or come across as being remotely presentable these days.

Looks like a right scruffy team tonight. I still don't get all this facial hair shit. It used to be stubble, now its sweaty beards with last weeks dinner still roaming in it.

Probably getting an electric shock every time he moves in that shirt.
Mind you I'd like to see both him and Harkson spontaneoulsy combust after the Liverpool love in over that dive. The Klopp claptrap was bad enough but then those 2 bearded pillocks made me want to puke

I'm rather fond of the combination of insight and despair which Lawro serves up, he seems to share my doom-laden view of the world

Lawro could be scripted by the team behind Drunken Bakers in Viz. His cynicism towards his role hit new heights tonight.

Clean shaved face, short back and sides and a comb kept in the inside pocket of a sports jacket is what I do. These are so called professionals in the public eye.

Fuck knows about Lawrenson, but look at this cheeky little dipper. I fucking hate Liverpool and Liverpool fans at the best of times, but look at this.... after saying Bojan went down too easy, all of a sudden: www.skysports.com/football/news/11662/10194879/palace-liverpool-talking-pointsHypocrite Carragher decides that Benteke's cheeky little dive yesterday was okay. Better not say anything though, the BBC will have a panorama documentary about how we're victimizing scummy bin dippers.

Just watching MOTD2.... so John Hartson thinks it was a penalty.
That's very interesting. He was very vocal about Victor Moses, when he played for Stoke. Typical BBC bias, desperate for the bin dipper scum to win the title. Sorry boys, it isn't going to happen. Shove your panorama and candles up your arse.

How anyone can agree that was a penalty, is beyond my comprehension. But then again, it's one of the blue eyed boys teams. As a prior poster has said, it make you want to puke!

Both of them evidently don't know the rules of the game ? In this case a foul is only committed if it was a trip , which is plainly wasn't. Like Pardew said also how could the linesman or assistant referee manage to be 100% certain from his position ? The only thing that is 100% certain is that the referees assistant is a best not fit to officiate a football match

Lawro should have gone when Hansen did - he is now almost a caricature of himself, being as crap as can be at punditry seemingly in the hope the Beeb will put him out of his misery.

He certainly has the air of a man who has been dragged out of the staff bar against his wishes to mither and sneer for ninety minutes.
I bet as soon as he hears the end title music his microphone is yanked off and he's out of his chair before you can say 'right to go down'.

There is such a thing as common sense! It did not happen in this particular incident. Is anyone prepared to say that Benteke did not make a meal of it? The man is a cheat! We saw against Newcastle, and in many other games this season, that the linesmen are not particularly good at their job. They seem to be in a world of their own.

I'm sure that is allowed... or is it?? That said, using your extract it only proves that it was not a penalty. You highlighted trips or attempts to trip meaning that there must be the intention to trip benteke or at least an attempt to. As it was clear as day that he attempted to pull out and had little contact, then surely within the laws of the game.... No penalty. That includes the careless part as he fully attempted to pull out and contact was minimal.

However for me and I'm sure for most other people it was not the going down in the box, but more the manner of the dive which deserved an Oscar (Well maybe next year after a racism enquiry)
It fits right in with what I have said before about coaching players to Maximise an incident to gain advantage, clearly bad sportsmanship and in my opinion not wanted in any sport.
In my experience grown men do not fall head first to the ground when you tap them on the foot, if they did I would be Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Just seen the video - stonewall penalty IMO. The view from the touch line is very clear.
An unbelievably stupid challenge from the CP defender.
