Raiding Aston Villa is akin to breaking a turd apart just to find another, more foul smelling turd underneath it. I'm curious to know what you would normally expect to find... 17th century French jewellery?

Amavi at left back for the right price, maybe traore again right price and wages.
Wignaldum and the young centre back who they signed from Anderlecht from newcastle..maybe sissoko.
Swansea maybe neil Taylor as competition for Pieter's.
Norwich- Redmond.
Swansea- Sigurdson.

Well in the football world normally there is often a diamond amongst a sea of spinelessness and mediocrity in teams at the bottom of the table, however in Villa's case there's just some dingleberries that refuse to be flushed.

Villa: Traore, Bacuna, Okore, Ayew Norwich: Redmond Sunderland: M'Vila, Khazri, Lens Swansea: Sigurddson, Ki, Williams, Ayew Newcastle: Wijnaldum, Mitrovic, Janmaat, Perez, Aarons You do realise that Bacuna is utter garbage, and Villa's Ayew is the shit one of the pair?

Wow. Shelvey? He was one of the worse players to play at the Brit this season. By by far one of the best midfielders of his type in the country . Would suit a Whelan role perfectly and is a big strong OX of a man . He also has a fantastic shot on him that Arnautovic would be proud of ...... Great player . Any player who was even half-decent would never turn in a performance like his last night. He was absolutely shit.

Always rated Agbonlahor at The Villa, but even he seems to be struggling this season.Lost his pace but has had a good premier league career. Can see a club coming in for him.Strikes me as though he is Villa through and through and would stay to try and help them get back up.

From the limited amount I've seen of Villa Micah Richards seems to be the one player who shouldn't be down the bottom of the league, a player with skill and defensive nous among a sea of headless chickens

Before he went there id say we should go after him but now were better than that all he wants is ££££££

I thought his dropping was a case of the manager making a statement after their 6-0 defeat as in the captain being dropped shows none of them are untouchable. That and maybe he's preparing for the Championship and knows they'll be flogging Richards

I don't think Shelvey is cut out for the Premier League - not this high-pressing, full-intensity season that we're in anyway. He's certainly not cut out for a relegation battle in it (which Swansea knew; not sure what Newcastle were thinking paying £12M to help in their scrap).
He might do well in a mid-table La Liga match, or in an international against San Marino. I wouldn't have him at Stoke though, not until all of the other teams in the league lose their fight.

I'd definitely have Shelvey and Wijnaldum from Newcastle. I wouldn't touch shelvey unless it was with a fucking hammer to the cunts head.

Wijnaldum cost the Toon £14 million didn't he? To come in to us someone quite important would have to be dropped. He's an attacking midfielder so Bojan or Afellay had better watch out. Interesting that Aarons is mentioned but if they went down you'd expect him and the young lad at Coventry (Armstrong?) to be part of their future. Anyway, I don't think they'll go down.

From the limited amount I've seen of Villa Micah Richards seems to be the one player who shouldn't be down the bottom of the league, a player with skill and defensive nous among a sea of headless chickens I was amazed at how slow he is now. I know Mirralas is quick but he easily went up a gear for 1 of their goals the other night and Richards couldn't cope. 1 of Richards biggest strengths was his pace and I think he's losing that.

Agbonlahor is and has been shite for years - at best a sprinter who occasionally finds the net, and currently an overweight wide man who doesn't. He's scored 11 goals in the last three seasons (79 games) and frankly is garbage. Throw in the reported £50k a week and there are few players I'd want less. As you can tell, not his biggest fan.

He was their best player for us yes. Did he complete a pass to his own team mate last night? Opinions eh? I cant remember him misplacing a pass. Shelvey really was awful mate, it may all be about opinions but I'm not entirely sure where you've got yours from? Only decent thing he did all night was put the ball in for Doumbia at the end, other than that, one of the worst midfield performances I've seen in a long time.

Considering the players we have and the ones the fodder have... I'd look at...
Montero - fallen out of favour at Swansea but would provide the cover we need on the wings. Doubt he'd cost that much either.
M'Vila - not worth me saying a 'Whelan replacement' but if Hughes decides it's time, he'd be ok.
Redmond - ideal cover for the wing if he fancies battling Shaq and Arnie.
Sigurdsson - always rated him and a set piece expert would be nice too.
A side mention for Janmaat who didn't look to bad the other night and although Wijnaldum looks decent in some games, where would he play in our team?

I genuinely believe if Norwich go down we will go for Redmond. He's a class act and would provide very good competition on the wing. Plus he's English and best mates with Jack Butland

I think Stoke have moved on and are now at a level where we should not buy other teams rejects, failures, second-best, past players, or from relegated clubs.
MH has bought successfully with Glenn Johnson but otherwise players like Bardsley are just a stop gap till we get someone who is real top half Prem standard.
It is also time we started to have some faith in players from the Academy and throw them in occasionally rather than scavenging around teams that have failed or are second rate. If there are bargains to be had, they are the Vardys of this world from the lower divisions who have potential and the club scouts should be finding them.
