Hellu! Will Chelsea focus on the PSG game so much, we have a chance of getting 3 points? They lost 2-1 in Paris. What do you think? porridge//:musik

They will want their good run to continue. Despite internal strife they actually have the best squad in the league. We have to be at our best.

Be a miracle to get a point but I can take this loss which probably is coming but you never know but 9pts out of the last 12 on offer is a great return so let's Not commit suicide folks if we lose sat.
Plus we already beat em twice in a week early on in the season so maybe it's only fair haha!
But COME ON STOKE

If we win, we might be the first team to beat Chelsea 3 times in one season, surely in a long time any way?

At the moment, Chelsea away is just about the only fixture I'd write off at the moment. Anyone else I'd fancy us to at least have a fighting chance. But Chelsea seem like they're back to their best.

I agree that Chelsea will have their eyes fixed on the match against PSG so it will be interesting but I also believe that Stoke can get something from the game. It will be great for Stoke not to have so much expectation hanging over them!

Just a good performance with no injuries and positives to take to the Southampton game.
Pretty please?

no way they'll take their eye off the ball.
only real chance of getting back into the champs league is by striving for top 4 and being in the champs league next season is massively important to them to get the players they'll want in the summer. they won't give up on that just to focus on PSG next week. wouldn't be surprised if they viewed next years Champs league as more important than this one as they can start next season with a clean slate and get up and running from the start again.

I'm pretty sure Hiddink said they were considering resting Costa for either their game against Norwich or their game against us. Luckily for us, he played the full 90 on Tuesday so hopefully will be rested on Saturday.

I just hope we give a good account of ourselves. If we were at full strength I'd fancy us but right now our defensive injuries really worry me. A back 4 of Diouf, Muni, Wolli and Eric could equal a landslide if we concede early. I just hope they rest a few as right now they're playing the best football in the PL and I'm pretty sure they're not writing off top 4 such is their form.

I'm thinking Bojan up top for this game. We'll be playing a team with a big pitch and a high line. Get some movement going, get him in the pockets and take it to them.
Bojan or Diouf. This game isn't one to start with a striker who needs to hold it. Get in to some space and behind the lines.

Would snap your hand off for a 1-1 or 2-2 draw.
False 9 maybe, but it's difficult to predict whether it would work against the likes of Fabregas, Mikel and/or Matic. Shaq and Arnie need to be at the absolute top of their game on Sat if we're going to get a draw or win, especially since Shaq could be up against Baba again...

Rest a few after the last two games this past week. Give Ireland and Bojan a start, instead of Walters and Afellay. Further back choices are a bit limited, otherwise I'd suggest giving Glenn (and his nose) a well deserved break (pardon the pun) and try either Cameron or, as a bit of a test, Muniesa. Diouf on the right wing is not my preferred option, but his pace on the break might be useful (and any long outlet balls could go in his direction rather than towards Bojan) and Shaq could get a breather after his match winning performance in midweek. He could have the last 30 minutes instead of Arnie - we can't keep flogging them both week in, week out and expect them to be at their peak.
Butland Cameron Wollscheid Muniesa Pieters Whelan Imbula Diouf Ireland Arnautovic Bojan

I have mixed feelings about this game. On the one hand, we're in a great run & this is probably the best time for us to be playing a team like Chelse but at the same time, you could say that they're on an even better run & would love to go above us in the league with another win. I think there is only one way to get something out of this game. Defensively we'll have to be at our absolute best and would probably have to rely on a couple of saves by Butland to stay in the game. But at the same time, I'm quite certain that we'll create some chances in the game on the counter. We're good against teams who like to play football & don't park the bus for 85 mins. If we get an early goal, then I think we can go on to win the game but if we concede early I could see this being another big defeat.
This season we've almost always been better away from home (even if the results don't reflect that). And on the plus side if Imbula runs at their defence like he did when he was at porto, we might be in for something special. I agree with Matt (above) that this is an good opportunity to start Bojan up front. He will be desperate to prove his worth & let's be honest, Walters hasn't offering much in the last 2 games.

Think Everton away. Let's get at them early. Id like to see Bojan back in the team as he thrives on these sort of games.

Agree re Walters...effectively been playing with 10 men the last few games, almost seems like we've gone back to the Pulis years when SJW was "undropable"!!
