Surely Leicester n Tottenham finishing top two pisses all over this? Sounds like they are throwing their toys out of the pram because they are doing shite, plus why do bloody Liverpool being invited into this?

Bye bye. Who would even watch that garbage?
When the whole thing collapses around them and they beg to be let back in, they should be made them start from the district pub leagues and work their way up.

Would not bother me if they cleared off.
They would probably come crawling back after a few years, expecting automatic re entry to the Prem not only for themselves but their continental mates, at the expense of some real clubs.
I know what my answer would be.

.... All because they can't beat Leicester or Spurs to the title. Toys, pram & throwing come to mind. They can all piss off. The "global audience" will soon get sick of it. What do they come up with after that? A Masters League with the likes of Messi, Ronaldo & Rooney?

let them go and eat cake,i don,t watch the cl now i certainly wouldn,t bother watching that shite, fuck em It won't happen, but if it did I would hope that the Prem / CL and Europa would continue as usual with the vast majority of fans ignoring the so called 'Euro Super League (or whatever they would call it)'. Thus resulting in it getting scrapped. Even if were a fan of one of the perceived big 4 or 5 clubs I wouldn't want this. It would really mess up away matches and destroy any local (or national) rivalries. It's quite staggering to see just how far these clubs are willing to go in the name of greed. They already get the most revenue, they already play in European competition and they already participate in these mega bucks summer tournaments. Quite disgusting really.

The big clubs are obviously so rattled by the "Twenty's plenty" campaign that they want to form a league where (like in the USA) away fans are almost non existant.

We half got it already with the formation of the Champions League didn't we?
It would kind of be phase 2 of that a.k.a. the final nail in the coffin.
You just know its coming now we all live in the 'global village', all that is really being discussed is when.

I`ve been on about this before , with so many foreign owners in the premier league , they aren't here for the love of the game. They are here for kudos and money. They do not give a toss about our football and want to prostitute the game the highest bidder. Negotiate their own TV rights , see the top clubs playing a league match in Asia or America etc. Fill the grounds full of plastic fans. It was up to English football to protect English football a long time ago , but with greed and pound signs flirting about , not just with the top 4 of 5 clubs but most prem. clubs it may be too late. I love being in the top flight but I hate the monster that has been created in football. It`s all about the coin, the project , the brand and the status. let them get on with it , they call it progress . I wonder what the true fans of those big clubs think about it?

Bye bye. Who would even watch that garbage? When the whole thing collapses around them and they beg to be let back in, they should be made them start from the district pub leagues and work their way up. In Britain probably not many neutrals (fans of the teams not involved) would watch it, but outside of the UK and maybe some of the stronger footballing countries they would lap it up. People from other countries, mostly, just want to watch the best teams play - as simple as that. The idea of a supporting a crap team through thick and thin or cheering on an underdog is quite a British trait. It's sad, but a European Super League would probably be wildly successful - at least from a financial point of view and at least in the first few years of its existence. Whether it would become stale if there is no promotion/relegation, I'm not sure.

UEFA and individual FAs have been pandering to the clubs for years. Now it's going to far.
If this is to happen (and I can't see it it will) UEFA and the FA should let the clubs do it with their blessing. However exclude them from all domestic competition and not allow the players to play in sanctioned international tournaments.
How much money do they fucking want

It's got fuck all to do with merit and all to do with shirt sales in SE Asia! Nah Nige, Competing in a country with potential shirt sales of 70 million, we are just happy to be in the same supermarkets as teams who operate in countries of 2 billion! Assuming this did happen the Sky bubble would burst for those who were left?

Having given the topic enough time to make a milky coffee i say fuck em off if they want to go, room in the league for five real teams then, they also leave on the condition that when it fucks up, and it will, they start again at the bottom, somewhere below the national league.
Plus eventualy they will be playing in stadiums with only home fans as the away fans will just not be able to afford the travel

The problem is, and its a big if, this did happen all the money would follow them and the players we and other league teams could afford means we would never be able to compete. It would destroy the domestic game and reduce the the viable teams to a handful.
I don't think it will happen but the day it does would crucify the domestic game.

Maybe it's why were not filling the corners in. No demand for playing Fulham with a team of no marks on a cold wet Tuesday night for trophy no one really gives a shit about.
The demise of football draws ever nearer.

With no sight of Barca real M and Bayern M at such a meeting its unlikely to be a serious discussion. It is probably more about how the so called 'big 5' can make more money by playing games over here.

You just know its coming now we all live in the 'global village', all that is really being discussed is when. this is correct. this is more likely about phase 2 of a plan to develop the Champions League into a closed league system with automatic entry for 'elite' teams. This has probably been pushed up on the agenda due to the fact that some of these elite teams have had their nose put out of joint by the likes of Leicester and Tottenham this season. If Leicester qualify for Champions League I think we will certainly see reform of Champions League entry, and will mean that finishing in the top 4 will not guarantee Champions League football as places will be reserved. For one thing the TV companies (i.e. major sponsors) dont want Leicester in the Champions League, they want Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

It wouldn't destroy the domestic, the relative quality of the top few divisions would just get significantly lower. It would be like 1970's football with very few foreigners and without the top UK/Irish players. Our leagues would still exist and people would still support their teams, just like league 1 and 2 exist now and people passionately support those clubs.

It is probably more about how the so called 'big 5' can make more money by playing games over here. Barca have already publicly stated that they support a closed Champions League system with places reserved for elite teams so they don't need to be there. This is getting the English teams on board.
