Not noticed another thread on this tonight but
BBC Radio Stoke
plumbed new depths for us today as, post match - we made our way up the M6 motorway north
We dont get to our car until about twenty past five but it was either crwho fans almost suicidal at their shittiness
then - overlong post match analysis of Crwhos game ( defeat against Barnsley apparently) surely no one listening gives a running fuck about
and then, a very negative Stoke fan ( who surely must have been on a wind up) given at the end of his call he actually said Villa were the better side ?
( did we really hear that ?)
Matt Sandoz also trying to desparately justify the programme to another bloke asking him ( Matt) straight ,why stoke fans don't go on anymore
all in all - utterly desparate and amateurish fayre I'm afraid
dear oh dear !

The station covers Stoke and South Cheshire, essentially Crewe Vale and Stoke. Everybody has their opinions so whats the problem. There was a Stoke supporter on tonight who no fucker could understand

There was a Stoke supporter on tonight who no fucker could understand The problem is that Crewe can't afford their own radio station and therefore bore and pollute ours .... Can't they team up with Chester's or join Samaritans ... If the ISA interest rate drops by .25% percent then the 'hardcore' of Crewe pensioner supporters can fall by as much as 50% whilst they switch to their funds to the Isle of Man ...

Would you go to the pub for a pint with someone who said they ring praise and grumble? I'd run a mile. I just don't get the fascination with the whole setup.
Exploiting idiots for radio figures!?!!

One Stoke fan rang and had a bit of a laugh at Crewe's expense and the presenter threatened to cut him off. I seem to remember back in the day that Crewe fan after Crewe fan used to ring to discuss how shit Stoke were because for once in their festeringly turgid existence they were above us.
Radio Stoke used to actively promote this sort of thing. They don't seem so keen on it now the natural order is restored and Crewe are once again just the rancid shit on our shoes.

I was fed up the back teeth of the Crewe fans moaning, and then on came some barmy Stoke fan talking bollox. At that point I switched the radio off and let the grandkids play the soundtrack to Reservoir Dogs. Much better. OS.

I like Matt Sandoz, he read my 'Juan Kerzhoff' tweet out on air before realising what he'd just said.

And then you have got Nigel and his " interviews " . This is the worst part. His questions are pathetic. "So Mark, pleased to get the win today?" "Nice to see Arnautovic get a couple of goals?" "Are you hoping you can beat Newcastle on Wednesday?" "Are you still aiming to beat last year's points total? "Do you like football?" "Your name is Mark Hughes isn't it?" I mean seriously? If I was Mark Hughes I'd be sarcastic and answer "no" to all of them. He must have asked Geoff Cameron the same question 50 times as well. You could tell Geoff just wanted to leave.

Quite surprised how the Stoke fan kept his cool to go on and make a point

It's fucking Graham McGarry that draws me.I don't listen to P and G on Fridays cos of that prick Matt Sandos and his poncy mate, and their fucking stupid games like " Let's make a team up of players who sound like body parts. If you look at National Sports Radio they employ ex professional footballers to lead their shows. They generally have informed and reasoned opinions and are not afraid to voice them. Why can't our city's radio station get themselves organised for match days and put Nige and the likes out to grass? And I'm not talking Denis Smith! He was one of my heroes as a player but he does not come over very well on the radio. I want someone who is not afraid to ignite the fuse!

Wilko has just lost his job through injury but if he was up for it, would prove a popular voice every game we have as long as he was not turned into a head bowing, don't offend character that we have now!

I'm Graham the Stoke fan who had a go at Matt Sandoz re the excessive Crewe coverage. Yes I kept my cool and have emailed the radio station comparing his actions to those of a child. Won't get any better though till Mcgarry gets put out to grass and hopefully Crewhoo are in the confernce whey they and their boring fans belong.

Perhaps because i've not lived in Stoke for thirty years, my radio doesn't have a quick setting for Radio Stoke. So I always listen to Sports Report on R5L straight after the game, and alternate between Call Colleymore and 606 for the journey home. So I can't really praise or grumble.

Radio Stoke reflects the area and their coverage matches Stoke City off the pitch - BANG AVERAGE.

The commentaries are generally worthwhile, I don't get to many away games just now; but I've given up on the shite before and after. The Friday night effort is rank amateurish drivel with calls and footie news only serving to interrupt the "banter" and foolish "team picking" game. Like my arse P&G.

yeah it is amateurish but they can only speak to the people who bother to call in. some of the Stoke fans who go on are fucking embarrassing and can barely string a couple of sentences together. I don't bother listening to the Vile or Crwho fans mumblings. Gouranga.

He was excellent and gave really good analysis and insights into what goes on and why. Then one day, he got too honest and told it like it really was after a particularly turgid performance away to Liverpool under Pulis. I don't know if the truth of what happened next has ever come out, but presumably Stoke City weren't happy and complained about what was said. I don't think Gleghorn ever appeared on Radio Stoke again.

Spot on array he had a big fallout with Mcgarry rumour has it for being to Stoke orientated. E. I once had the misfortune to have the company of Mcgarry on a work related trip back from London a few years ago I'm glad the the train didn't break down though an hour or so in his company was more than enough.

I too think Radio Stoke should now abandon Crewe Alex.
Perhaps a bit of coverage if they have a big match (let's say an FA Cup Final) but other than that they should be left to Radio Cheshire (and if there is no such thing - then tough).
The parsimonious claptrap of their coaching staff and supporters has been mind numbing crap for years.
