Noticed that he scored today for Dagenham. 40 years old and still playing league football, he's had a fair innings. I remember him scoring for Norwich in the early days of the Premier League and he was a thorn in our side for Bristol Rovers during Brian Little's reign.

Cureton and Forster had a nasty habit of scoring against us for Reading, one of the best lower league double acts if my memory serves correctly.

Yeah, absolute nightmare for us. Would've been a cracking signing though.

Has alaways scored goals where ever he has been. One of those players that you think if a bigger club had taken a chance, they could have had a bargain.

Weren't we interested in him at one point-or is my mind playing tricks with me?

Weren't we interested in him at one point-or is my mind playing tricks with me? Yes.... But we went for the better option Dave Kitson who was far more prolific at not scoring.

He did sign for Norwich when they were in the PL in the mid 90's, think he only lasted a season before going to Bristol Rovers. I've seen him play this season at Stevenage in the Johnstone's paint trophy, he was the best player on the pitch

Jamie Cuereton has always scored goals wherever he has been .i would have loved us to have signed him at the time instead of Dave Kitson. Im surprised that one of the big clubs didnt pick him up. I think its amazing that he is still playing football and scoring at 40 yrs old

Sylvain Distin is 38 and still playing premier league football and still looks useful.

Cureton and Forster had a nasty habit of scoring against us for Reading, one of the best lower league double acts if my memory serves correctly. I thought it was him and another chap at Bristol Rovers that were renowned for just scoring shite loads. But, also had a bad defence so never really able to convert all the goals to points to make a serious challenge

He is a proper striker who knows when and where to arrive in the box to get the job done .
He would be perfect for us if he was 15 years younger !

Jason Roberts at Bristol and Nicky Forster at Reading? Fuck knows pal!! It was definitely Jason Roberts partnering Cureton at Rovers. Beat us regularly back in those days 4-1 and 2-1 at the Brit and these two would have been largely responsible. BM

I think its amazing that he is still playing football and scoring at 40 yrs old When we signed Kitson in 2008 Cureton would have already been 32 and was enjoying a bit of an Indian summer to his career in the Championship with Colchester. I think he's one of those players that would always score goals in the Championship and below but didn't really have the all round game for the Premier League. Hence him spending most of his career in the Championship and League One. Mind you he could hardly have been any worse than Kitson and would have been cheaper!

Surely Charlie Austin is the latest example. Lambert was OK before he went to Liverpool. Rhodes will always score goals

Martin Butler was the one we were linked with I'm sure, but he went on to sign for Reading alongside Forster and Cureton at Reading if my memory serves me right

We were linked with Butler and Cureton at one point. We were linked with Cureton during the summer after we beat Reading to stay up.
