Don't think we have had a thread recently. With 2/3rds of the season gone I think this season's award is about as open as it has been for many a year. There is no one obvious candidate. My vote currently is torn between
Ibrahim Afellay and Arnie
p.s shitbin if we have had one of these threads recently

Erm... Jack Butland seems pretty obvious to me

I'd go for Jack Butland unless he either loses form drastically or someone else improves dramatically. Whelan would have been a decent shout but for the fact that he has had a few below par games - more so than Butland has.

I was going to say Affelay, but you're absolutely right, Butland by a country mile, no idea how I managed to overlookhim!

Butland and Johnson for me. Couldn't believe it after the Everton game getting back on the bus some old chap saying Johnson is a terrible player our worst player and worst signing this season. I had too chuckle too myself, he's been probably our most consistent performer all season!!

All up there for Player of the Season so far. I'd say Butland just pops it though

Johnson had 2 or 3 poorer games at the start of the season, and was really poor against Man U. Apart from that, he hasn't put a foot wrong. Butland has been class all season and saved us more points than he's cost us, definitely. Affelay is up there too. If Imbula continues as he has the previous 2 games then he could be a contender too

Jack Butland has consistently been the most impressive.
Ibrahim Afellay has had an excellent season but may not quite have been spectacular enough to earn the award.
Apart from those two, Phillip Wollscheid has been excellent and Arnautovic has been good more times than he's been bad.

If Pieters could cross the ball he might get it.
As it is Butland
Arnie or Afellay have a chance if they have a good spell

I think Cameron started off really well and but for injury would be vying Jack started off on fire but recently the team have dipped and 9 goals in 3 games conceded takes the shine off, not that he's to blame.
