How are things shaping up at the moment?
We're dropping like flies at the moment.....
Any injury updates anyone, or players likely to be back soon?

Cameron, Shawcross, Arnie and Muniesa should all be okay for Villa.

Arnie was ill all week so should be good I wouldnt be so sure on Cameron, they are worried about Geoff, cant seem to get to the route of it, he went to Germany last week for a specialist. but theydont seem at all confident Also Charlie could be back. Bardsley should be back too, took a dead leg in training on Friday, and it wanst a pleasant knock

If it is an "ongoing" issue it should have been addressed in the window as we look really light. Good news re Charlie didn't think he'd be back for a while.

Only going of what EN told us before the game, a few of us had a decent chat to him. Geoff was defo his biggest concern, and that Charlie was progressing well.
Also spoke about the young lads, mentioned that Molina is technically very good, and a good passer when given time, but is not the strongest when man to man, so are working on that. Also Moha is lightening quick, but raw and is lightweight, and has also been ill, so need to get to the bottom of that with him. Taylor who is I believe a centre half is looking promising, and has travelled with the squad the last couple of away games.

Can we make Taylor comfortable on the ball, then even if he can't defend we can make 50m on him.

RB and CB is definitely our biggest concern. Thankfully we still have Bardsley and then we'll be down to the youngsters.

Yes Shenton has been with the squad too, no issues, is looking decent and there if we need him, no mention of whether he would be blooded.
Wilson he said April, didnt mention when in April mind, but would of thought towards the middle/end.

He's had the issue since a West Brom player tackled him.

It was the tackle at West Brom that is his current ankle problem, from the tackle that wasnt even given as a foul

What I don't get is if Cameron is out long term and we didn't know when he would be back why we didn't get a loan in in the transfer window. We had time. Now we're short of cover at RB where we have to rely on Bardsley for the rest of the season now, CB where we have 1 fit CB left.

If we had brought someone in,Tex would probably not been registered so wouldn't have been able to play. The squad needs trimming before we can afford to bring extra cover in for an injury crisis.

The squad is a) Very Old b) Imbalanced. We have lots of central strikers when in reality we play 1 striker. We have very little winger cover and end up playing strikers out wide. We have lots of number 10's and attacking midfielders (Adam, Bojan, Affellay and Ireland) and no real Defensive Midfield cover. We have enough defensive cover but have been unlucky with injuries, I am not sure the quality is there though as Bardsley, Wilson, Tex, Muniesa are all not good enough in my opinion.

Apologies for bringing this back to the top.
So.... 10 games to go.
How are Johnson, Ryan and the rest coming along?

I think it's his ankle. He's had the issue since a West Brom player tackled him. He actually picked up the injury away at west ham. Gary Mellor on Twatter told me it was down to 2 tackles in close proximity against West Brom.

With Johnson (but Cameron replaces him very well) and escecially Ryan back we could have a great rest of the season

Yes, I thought one of the tackles at WBA was actually the one which Cameron reacted to and got himself sent off although the decision was later rescinded. Which with hindsight helped us not one jot since Cameron was injured in the incident anyway and not available for selection

Aint Johnson out for the season? Hughes said he was another 2 to 3 weeks away in his press conference on Thursday so presumably not.

I loved Hughes' reaction to Nigel Johnson asking if Shawcross will start next week ...."not necessarily because the lads have done a great job today"
Of course he will though.
