Gotta be Walters' goal to make it 4-0 at Wembley for me. Where even the most glass half empty Stoke fan thought we were going to win after that!

Richard Forsyth versus Wolves. Can't find a video if anyone can help. Well worth it!! Late 90's ish. i was about to say the exact same thing. i was standing in the boothen, in line with forsyth when he struck it. I also remember getting covered in someone else's tea as people erupted when it hit the net!

Shawry away at Burnley 92/93 was a beaut - 25 yard volley. He got two that day. The power of the bumfluff 'tache.

Tony Ford v Shrewsbury at Gay Meadow 1987. A 20 yard pile driver that was hit so hard, it just flashed into the net like a modern light football. If the net hadn't been there it probably would have landed in Market Drayton

I quite liked Afellay's finish yesterday too and it was just outside the box. Two other outside of the area goals that weren't on a par with the best described in this thread, but came in a significant match were Taggart and Gallagher at Coventry in the "Boskamp/Rudge/De Koning" fallout match. I can't find them online though.

This one popped into my head. One of those goals that comes out of absolutely nowhere from a player who was wank throughout the rest of his time with Stoke. A bit like Marc Goodfellow who was utter shite but scored that memorable goal against United when Barthez was in goal. That's another one to try to dig out from somewhere.

We won 3-0 but I haven't got a clue who scored the other goals.

Some great memories here the best for me have to be the crouch v man city, jerome v soton and Lawrence v hull. Special shout out to the griff goal in the fog, how that game went ahead I'll never know. Sitting in the boothen you could only see to the half way line it was a good job his goal came at the boothen end otherwise no body would have seen it

Whelan's goal here. A crucial game that season. Also a big fan of his volley vs Palace I think from a corner in the Championship Villa were in 5th place with 51 points from 26 games when we played this match on 1st March 2009. Simmo's haircut is a thing of beauty and Ryan looked like someone on death row. Villa's season went south after this game, and they've been going south ever since!

Hoekstra v Reading, not sure if it counts but I used to have a season ticket on the back row of the boothen/sentinel corner and I'm convinced I had the best view in the house for that goal. The video angle just doesn't do it justice, the way the ball swerved from inside to out, if someone looked up a split second before the ball hit the net they wouldn't have believed it was Hoekstra who had scored from the left. One of the best individual performances I've seen as well! Hoekstra is still one of my favourite Stoke Players to this day.

A bit vague this one but Dave Regis I can remember hitting a beauty against Watford at home in 93-94. I think Greavsie gave it Central Goal of the month as well.

I used to have it on VHS then I lent the tape out to someone with a load of other stoke matches from that era recorded - never got them back!! What really irks me is Id love to see that 4-1 win over WBA again and its not on Youtube either!! Glorious goals from Carruthers & Wallace and Ill never see them again!
Back to the goal yeah it was a bender BUT there was some thought that maybe it took a deflection off the defenders boot
I think he scored one the week or two before where he was running at pace, lost his balance and fell over but still managed to prod the ball past the goalkeeper.
I loved big Dave Regis - he was a precursor to Mama; not blessed with skill and not a great goal scorer but a defender's nightmare with his size and strength

I really wanted to find some Toddy Orlygsson goals but cant find a single one on Youtube; shame as I remember some belters like the one against Sunderland
I found a clip of him though in a 2012 interview under his Icelandic name and Im shocked to see him without the golden locks
Just a shame our younger fans cant see anything of him playing for us.

A few old 'uns may remember Bill Asprey's thunderbolt v Leicester City. Back in the big-time 1963/64. We beat Spurs 2-1 home, Villa 3-1 home, think drew 1-1 at Wolves and were 'top' along came Leicester beating us 1-3 at the Vic when we managed a 3-3 draw. Can remember Asprey's long-range effort almost bursting the net at the 'Town End' (Stoke end) open terracing.
