With Ryan and Geoff not playing ,that leaves us with the same pairing that Josh King destroyed whilst getting his hatrick for Blackburn. I'm a tad concerned he might have another field day.

You do worry about Wolly and Muniesa against anyone with pace and power, that's for sure.
But as they're the only fit centre-halves, it'd be a bold move to plump for Johnson or Pieters ahead of them in the middle

The best bet is just to not worry about it. Try not to think about it or think about how good they were against Liverpool.
Both are fine individual players. Hopefully they can step up to the plate as a partnership. If Wooly is fit, I'm not concerned by him. Muniesa worries me far more.
I want to see him defending the width of the goalposts tomorrow, not chasing hopeless causes down the left wing.

I think it might be worth changing the formation and play a sweeper?

I reckon we will see much improved performances from several players this weekend.

I don't expect us to play anywhere near as high up the pitch as we did against Blackburn. That was suicide against their pace and same applies tomorrow.
Sit back and counter, Bournemouth know no other way than to attack so there should be gaps that can be exploited if our front group are on song.
Time for an unsoiled sheet!

There was a moment last week when Muni was giving Wolly some real words of encouragement as he was going up for a corner. They're not incapable of playing together, hopefully tomorrow will prove this!

I agree, Muni has looked in quite shoddy form this season, take out his performance against Liverpool and he's looked very shaky.

He started the season very poorly as well, Norwich and Tottenham especially. When he was eventually dropped, it was very much a case of rightly so. He then, as usual, got injured.

I love Muni, but it seems without the presence of Ryan he goes for an adventure instead of staying in position, hopefully this has been worked on and we start to see the same player that finished last season so strongly, I suspect missing that penalty has also destroyed his confidence somewhat.

You can't just blame those two for that day, the high line killed us.

Stop the wing backs leaving their post and we'll be fine, it's become the norm and it leaves Arnie and Shaq without a clue as to their role. Back to defending with 4 with the occasional excursion.

Tomorrow is the easiest game of the season for Howe in terms of tactical preparation.
He will have his team sit back, then play direct balls through the channels for Afobe/King, their midfield will get up quickly.
Also, we can't defend set pieces without Shawcross.
Unless we do something different and get rid of Muniesa we will get a good hiding.
Gutted Ryan is not back

I recall Muni and Wolly did play well together last season after Shawcross was injured. Let's hope last week's poor performance was down to Muni's rustiness and lack of PT. Fingers crossed and hang on!

Easier said than done mate, i'm the sort that worries because i'm not worrying. That performance at Blackburn has scarred me for life, come to think of it another performance at Blackburn had the same effect remember Sonkogate?

They have pace in abundance. What is important is that we do not make silly mistakes and that our decision making is spot on. Our players deserve our support and that helps considerably.

They've had and got our support and they still got spanked, it makes no difference when the two at the back aren't good enough.
