2,065 Stoke fans there that day. Sinclair busts his knee, Gleghorn goes in goal, Ekoku nicks last minute equaliser and Nello dresses as a chicken. Eventful. Sentinel archive piece.

I was there, had a weekend in Bournemouth - got a useful point
Nigel Gleghorn was a consummate pro - always did a job whatever he was asked to do

Wasn't that the game where Cranson tried to clear the ball - absolutely skied it - it was up there for minutes. When the ball came down, Gleghorn (who was in goal) - came out a caught it and the ref gave a free kick for a deliberate back pass????!!

I remember similar happening against Tranmere at home first game of the season if memory serves me right, we lost and there was a riot after...oh the good old days!

Me too.A fairly typical low key end of season game between two mid table teams settled when their keeper fumbled a harmless Warey (RIP )cross over the line. It was back in the day you'd often see folk with mini transistor radios stuck to their ear and word was going round that one of the FA Cup semi finals had been abandoned due to "crowd trouble ". Little did we know....

First away game I took the now wife to. Asked her if she fancied a day out at the seaside.
However we took the official coaches and never even saw the sea. Shepherded straight in and back out again.
At least she has the posterity of seeing herself on film as we're quite clearly in view on the season review celebrating when the penalty went in. ????
Damn fine season that was.
