Hmm, now lets put ourselves in the players position. Would you rather be playing a not so important FA cup tie, when players rotated anyway, in the middle of February. Or would you prefer a warm season break in Dubai?
Just saying!

That 'not so important FA Cup tie' would have been the only thing we had left to play for before we start all over again in August and indeed one of only 2 competitions we enter which we can win. I'll be amazed if the players and management team were not nearly as gutted as me about our exit at Selhurst Park. Unless they just don't care about anything full stop and I refuse to believe that.

Michael Gray has just been on Talksport saying that he joined Mark Hughes Blackburn went to Dubai for a week of warm weather training. He was with Blackburn for three years. He said Hughes felt it was important for morale and the breaking up of the repetition of training was important. During Gray's three years they returned from those winter breaks and beat Arsenal three times 1-0on each occasion.

Haugaard, Bardsley, Wilson, Van Ginkel, Ireland & Odemwingie started the 4th Round game for us, all unlikely to feature again unless they put in a good performance. Some near the end of their contracts & wanting to put themselves in the shop window for a nice & healthy new contract either with us, or another club. Even other players to play during that game like Bojan, Joselu, Diouf & Crouch would have all been wanting to stake their claim for first team spots. ... But no, I'm with you, they all just threw the game so they could go to Dubai instead.

If anything with an attack minded midfield of Van Ginkel, Ireland and Bojan Hughes went for it against Crystal Palace. Hampered by fitness he put out a cracking side with Joselu up front. No streams etc so I listened on Rasio Stoke, {saw some highlights}, it was a should've/could've game in which we gave a decent go. Despite the disappointing exit the actual performance was a beacon of light in a pretty gloomy january. Not a hint of 'throwing it' for me neither.

You can't say we can win the FA Cup all of a sudden. We have never won it yet as you well know!
