They seem to have had a few decent results lately, only 3 points off a play off place, but oddly they have played more games than anyone else, I thought they had at least 2 games postponed due to waterlogged pitch...Personally I'd rather see them up then Milwall...

I've never even heard of a team called Plucky. Which division to they play in?

Are we supposed to guess which team you're referring to ?

Yes, it is quite worrying, were they to squeak a play off place then anything can happen from there, I always like to see them a minimum of 2 divisions apart from us.
It is really weird actually, I am not sure what has gone on but ever since Smurf had that dickie fit and branded his own fans a bunch of brain dead racists who had physically attacked him they have hardly stopped winning.
The only solace I am taking from it all is the 'games played' column which as you say shows 2 more than most other teams.

Shanghai, I was born less than a mile from Vale's ground, more than 60 years ago and I've never heard them refered to as "plucky". I think you're getting mixed up with the little ditty about Tunstall from many years ago, which talked about "a plucky little town called Tunstall, in the midst of Stoke on Trent." Other than that the nearest I can recall Vale being refered to anything like that was something that rhymed with Plucking but began with an f.

You want them go up. Strange I understand some peoples bitterness towards them, but as a lad me and my old fella used to alternate between the Vic & VP, so I never really had an inbred hatred of them, and I guess as an expat living 1000's of miles away it's good to see both clubs from Stoke on Trent on the up. My credentials as a Stoke Supporter stand up to scrutiny, had a season ticket for 8 years, me and my daughter did, been an avid fan both home and away for 30+ years, have loads of pals that are ex players, Cranny, Ronnie Sinclair, Dave Kevan to name just 3...( Well actually they are the only 3...lol...) May seem strange that I want Vale to go up, but to me it's quite natural... Give me a Vale fan from Boslem supporting his local team over some Essex Boy claiming to be United through and through, till they start winning fuck all that is, then he may well cast an interesting eye over Citeh, Arsenal or maybe even Leicester.

A lot of people know what I'm babbling on about, it's a throwback to the sentinel, when for example Stoke would beat Arsenal and hardly get any plaudits, but Vale would scrape a draw against Wrexham, and the headline in BOLD TYPECAST would say " Plucky Vale hold on for deserved draw..." It's a bit of a patronising underdog tag really...
