It seems to me that many fans have forgotten just how extraordinary the progress made at the Brit has been in the last 10 years and assume we will continue in the same vein unimpeded by the occassional dip in form/confidence or injury crisis.
Just as a reminder: in 2005/2006 we finished in 13th place in the Championship; had an average attendance of less than 15,000, Johann Boskamp pretending he was a football manager, exited the League Cup to Mansfield in Round One, needed a replay and penalties to get past Tamworth in the FA Cup, our main goalscorer Sammy Bangoura went missing after an international for Guinea and the Icelandic owners sold the club back to PC at the end of the season.
Now I'm not for one minute saying we don't have issues that need to be addressed but let's do it in a positive manner without the "we're doomed" attitude that seems prevalent after every poor performance.
We are currently 11th and an established force in the most competitive league in the world; play before sell out crowds, have arguably the strongest squad ever seen at Stoke, have just signed a player for more than it cost to build our ground (although it would be nice to see it finished), are capable of beating anyone on our day and have improved year upon year since 2006.
Doesn't seem so bad to me...........

I agree with your sentiment but to be perfectly honest I don't think we needed another thread on the subject

You've got a couple of camps that are revelling in our poor form though.
The ones that didn't want tone to go.
The ones that didn't want Hughes.
For all the "I hope we proves me wrong" bollocks people don't like to be proven wrong. After nearly 3 seasons, this is one of the poorest patches we've gone through. So let them have their moment in the sun.

My short term memory is fine, we have been wank since West Brom away and lost 3-0 3 times on the trot. Many thanks!

And the ones who are ungrateful and unappreciative and think we will never have a crisis, or a dip in form, should win every game and have a team of invincible superheroes.

Saturday night on here proved without reasonable doubt that they were always there..just waiting patiently for their big moment.

There are those supporters who pass judgement based on half a dozen games (the goldfish) and those that base their judgement over a longer period (the elephants).
There appears to be more goldfish than elephants on this board at the moment.
From an elephant's perspective we look like a decent mid table team in a dip of form (the sort of dip our mid table rivals like Palace, Southampton and Everton have gone through at some point this season). To a goldfish the dip in form spells imminent disaster and proof of deep rooted problems stemming from that bubbly castle that suddenly came from nowhere.
Oh look where did that bubbly castle come from....

We are an average side but try saying that and you'd be lynched.
