Jesus fucking H fucking Christ and all his juggling acrobats; which two of Villa, Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle are going to finish above us? Not to mention all the others currently below us also finishing above us. I'm so enraged by this thread that I just ripped a fistful of my own pubes out and fired six staples into my cock. Feels good doen't it. You just have to wait for the pubes to grow back, the staples to fall out and then do it again.

Sorry mate we look so poor anything is possible.

I can't believe this thread.
Yep we've been pretty poor in the last few games but I know that this poor run won't continue and we've got some very winnable games coming up.
We'll finish comfortably in mid table.

No we will not go down. However something to think about with the games coming up. There are 13 games left to play.
4 of them are against top clubs. Citeh, Lpool, Spuds and Chelski. I very much doubt in current form we could get a win against any of these.
West Ham and Southampton are solid upper mid table teams and both playing well. Either of these winable?
Bournemouth, Watford and Palace despite a drop off in form of the latter 2 are still difficult places to go and all three are capable and do score goals. A win and a draw from these 3?
That leaves Villa, Newcastle, Swansea and Sunderland. We should beat Villa and Swansea. Newcastle have added a lot in Jan and are likely to improve so are an unkown. Sunderland are not that easy to beat and fighting for their lives.
I would not be surprised if we finished 14th or 15th. I think MH knows what we need and was not keen on doing much business in January and probably will make the changes in the summer.

Sometimes you do have to go back to go forward.
Theres going to be lot of comings and goings come summer. I don't think we need root and branch surgery but theres a lot of dead wood
I don't think we should underestimate how important jack has been either. If we'd had a more average keeper then regardless of Ryan we would be much worse off. He's saved us a few times this season and really disguises how shaky our defence is. We have only one CB on whom this board would all show complete faith in and reliance on one man is just not an option. I think jack Butland is the biggest one we should thank come May.

Plus its always good insurance to have your last game at home. Not saying we will be in anything like that but its there
So many times you saw a newly promoted team with a final day trip to Old Trafford or The Emirates and you just knew they were fucked!!
Wouldn't surprise me though to see Stoke win the next two games and pretty much secure their status - I just wouldn't bank on it though

Though in a season where Leicester are now favourites to win the league having been bottom this time last year nothing would surprise me anymore.

I can't see us getting dragged anywhere near the relegation places.

Latest projections for our final finishing position based on the remaining matches for all 20 teams and everyone team's performances so far. Attachment Deleted Our most likely finishing spot is now 13th and it's a 70% chance we finish outside the top ten & just 30% we end up in the top half. One chance in 500 we go down.

13th sounds about right but after two top ten finishes, it would be underwhelming??

Didn't seem 5 mins ago that everyone was praising how well Stoke played against Liverpool with Wolly and Muniesa at CB. Ryan was playing at Everton when they scored 3 so don't see how he would have made much difference today. I can't help thinking that the poor league form is fallout from the disappointing exit from the Capital Cup. It's happened many times in the past that a poor run in form follows a cup exit.

[/quote] I take each team's performance data after every game, adjust their defensive/attacking ratings, update the win/draw/loss odds for all remaining games, then simulate the remainder of the season 10,000 times using these odds. And finally add points "won" in future games to those already won in reality. Goal difference etc as tie breakers. The Graph summarises the results of the 10,000 simulations. I do it every week for every Premier League team, I just happen to be a Stoke fan. Agree 13th would be underwhelming as a fan. As a stats guy, there's a heck of a lot of statistical noise and randomness in a single season, so if we fail to match or better last season it would be totally unsurprising. There's more stats stuff on my blog in my signature. Many of the posts use Stoke/Pulis/Hughes to illustrate a particular point.
