Jesus fucking H fucking Christ and all his juggling acrobats; which two of Villa, Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle are going to finish above us? Not to mention all the others currently below us also finishing above us.
I'm so enraged by this thread that I just ripped a fistful of my own pubes out and fired six staples into my cock.

why are there people who (presumably having watched football all of their life) seem to think that us being in a relegation battle is down to us just losing or playing crap????? for us to be in a relegation battle we'd not just have to fuck up quite a few more games but the teams in the bottom three would also have to win shit loads of their games as well to catch us up in the first place...we don't LOSE points for not fucking winning!!! if anyone on here thinks that the likes of sunderland, swansea, villa and norwich can make up 12 points on us in the last couple of months then they obviously haven't seen ANY of those teams play this season. even if we don't get any more points i doubt any of those teams will even get another 12 points before the end of the season let alone any more than that (which they'd need to overtake us).
fucking ridiculous thread started (and continued)by people who obviously have no comprehension of how a fucking league system works!

Yes - this is pretty shit. We needed a central defender of quality sometime ago. We are paying the price and it's bad management pure and simple.

If we play like that every week them yes, but hopefully with Ryan back , at least the defence should be sound. Don't think the players know what MH is asking them to do, we are a complete shambles.

Pretty much everyone has been banging on about getting diouf back into the starting lineup and the rest of the team picked itself today..everyone would have chosen that starting XI!! Fair enough i wouldn't have brought on wingie but let's not pretend the subs were even an issue today. We'd lost before we even had chance to make any! It's shambolic defending pure and simple. Yes, we didn't create anything because they doubled up on shaq and arnie was awful but if our defence was even basically competent today we'd have got a goalless draw!!! That's where the phrase "build from the back" comes from...without that solid foundation the rest of the team moving up the pitch can't do anything as they're being stretched around all over the shop covering a shambolic back 4!!! Have you ever watched football before? I can only presume not to come up with such a knee jerk and massively oversimplified (and incorrect) statement.

One of our two CBs has been out injured for a very long time and has JUST come back. The other one is carrying an injury and was a major doubt for today's game. People are being a bit harsh Mick IMO. It WAS wank mind you.

Completely agree mate and yes there are mitigating factors as to why the defence were shit but it was the defence that created the issue today and that impacts all the way up the pitch. The ONLY way anyone can blame hughes is the lack of cover for ryan but with so many defenders in our ranks, even if they're not as solid as Ryan, our defending should be far far above the level it has been the last couple of games. It's been schoolboy standard and the players are to blame for that..they may not be absolute quality but they're better than that was today, no excuses IMO.

The guy a couple of seats along from me thinks so.
In fact, he really wouldnt back this team in a relegation battle.
He didn't take to kindly to my "thank fuck we aren't in a relegation battle then" retort.
QPR all over again apparently.

Honestly no. But the way we are playing at the moment I can't see us winning another game. That would be worrying still; would make 40 points a lot harder! 250/1 bet 365. Is it worth £10. We do look white.

Seriously give your head a wobble Yes. Maybe some of us are a bit negative at times, we're all different and sometimes life makes you that way but its sad to see people thinking that implies that people want to see their own team struggling just because of a different pov. Seems to get worryingly personal too at times

Michael Owen says If we don't get any more points and the other teams get more , then we will go down =)
Great punditry by Michael Owen again "Leicester have scored the first goal, which means they are 1-0 up. If it stays like this - they win."

Merse is our biggest fan in the media but even he couldn't defend us

If you set a side up to be wide open going forwards without the ability to create chances and score then you are risking a lot.
We need to be tighter at the back and stop being so one dimensional going forwards.

I don't think we will, but we lose at Bournemouth (every chance) then the 2 home games become really important, struggle with those and give the teams below is points then anything is possible, just need to stop The rot!

Hopefully no, it seems very unlikely.......but let's face it we're not safe, we're not scoring and we're defending badly. Plus we shouldn't be relying on other teams being shittier than us. Hughes needs to sort things out right now, I reckon. We are no doubt aiming at a higher league place than last year but we are playing uninspiring stuff and it's not easy to see us achieving it after the last few games. It seems that teams quite often play poorly for a while after cup exits and we have had 2 in a week so hopefully the LMH end of season effect will kick in soon and we can push on. But something needs to change right now, of that there is no doubt.
