A club like stoke will always have highs and lows over a season. If we didn't and had consistency then we'd be challenging for the title every year. What's important is as fans we don't overreact when you suffer the odd defeat. Stay loyal, stay loud, stay proud which gives the players the confidence to express out on the pitch. That is a superb point, m8! I have been thinking the exact same thing mesen. Seems like a fair few here on our beloved oatie have become very "precious" with an increased sense of entitlement as we methodically climb the table the past few seasons. I prefer to just get behind the manager and the lads and enjoy the good times.

Yes, there most certainly are. I don't get why, but there are. Waiting in the wings to do what? speak of the devil!

What's hating supporters got to do with anything? Oh that's right, nothing! But that didn't stop you posting your 'unique' views. I couldn't give less of a shit what you think about me, you've shown yourself up for what you are many times. And if I want to point it out, then suck it up, because I will. You still havent explained the knives in the back of Hughes comment. I love a good conspiracy story so please share this with us. I think of you like the gestapo of the oatcake uncovering Stoke related blasphemy, and reporting to Adolf Coates to execute said offenders by firing squad. Do you have a file on me? I feel special That's funny, because I think of you like an asshole, the type of asshole that slags off the players of the team he 'supports'. Opinions hey!

It's great stuff to hear and clearly they will back him, spending £18 million on Imbula is absolutely fantastic made even more remarkable by the fact they were also willing to back Hughes in trying to get Berahino and would have spend a further £20 million plus if West Brom would have been prepared to sell him.
It's going to be really interesting to see just how far we can progress and what kind of striker £20 million plus is going to get us in the summer!

Well if we lose tonight I will point the usual suspects out, then you'll agree with me, then we can move on, right? Deal? I'm not really sure what you mean? If we throw in a Leicester type performance, then we're all allowed a bit of a moan up whilst still thinking Hughes is ace aren't we? Just like if we win, we're allowed to get the calculators out and look at the rules if teams already in Europe win the cups, to see what we need to do. In just don't detect this eagerness for him to fail that you seem to. You know exactly what I mean, you know the same people that only post after a defeat. Bury your head as much as you like, they still exist. Unless it the ones who don't have an agenda against the manager can see it?

This statement also says he (Hughes) is going nowhere anytime soon. Great time to be a Potter. To be honest paddy there's been a couple of times when he has implied that. Let's face it, he has a good relationship with the chairman, he has funds available if needed, and the backing of the majority of fans. Why should he go to somewhere like Chelski? We are more than capable of European football. just feel though that a proven striker would be the missing link. But hell, I'm of the old school, I'm enjoying the ride. How many of us can have imagined playing the so called top teams and being disappointed if we don't beat them, especially at the Brit. Good times are just around the corner, I'm convinced of it.

Compared with Wolly, Adam, Walters and Joselu, Hughes gets very little stick on this board so I don't see why we're arguing about whether he's a target for posters.
Only Bojan, Muniesa, Shawcross and Butland seem immune from our more mentally unstable posters.

Maybe it's my imagination, or maybe it didn't count because it was an obvious troll thread?

Yet there are many waiting in the wings with a knife ready for his back. During his time with us he's proven that he knows what he is doing. He knows what HIS squad needs, his reputation hangs on it. Yes, it would've been 'nice' for the fans to sign a winger, a cb, a fullback and a striker. If Hughes thought we needed these players, wouldn't there have been some movement In trying to get them? Are there really people waiting in the wings? I don't sense any of that amongst the fans, or even amongst the Oatcake lunatic fringe. The only undercurrent of feeling I sense is a fear that he'll be off before the job is complete - and the backing he received yesterday allays those fears hugely. It's true though..The same names posting their negative bile literally when the final whistle goes after a defeat. In fact I'm certain some are typing it up during a game and hit send as soon as the whistle goes.
