What is it with people and there obsessions with a proper striker ? Surely every striker we have is a proper striker. Just because a striker is out of form, isn't playing, anything else where you think they're poor. Doesn't stop them being a proper striker. What you actually mean is you want a striker to hit the ground running and putting the ball in the back of net and stay bang in form. That's what I can only gather is some peoples impression of a "proper" striker

Come off it. Someone who puts in the net instead of at the goalkeeper, wide or over the bar. Countless times we do it. Other clubs are signing them. Why don't we. By the way, I've been banging on about this for years ( as if you didn't know). Watched the highlights from yesterday this morning. Should have scored one goal at least and this is happening far too often for my liking. Points and prizes wasted. I'm very happy with the way the clubs evolving, apart fro this area. The idea of the game is to get the ball in the back of the opposition's net! Not wide, or over the frigging bar!

Glad to see you accept the fact that we don't need ONE striker as clearly we need another one trying to push him off the first team perch.

We want a natural goalscorer, one that gets themselves into goalscoring positions and scores. Michael Owen at his best did this in contrast to Charlton Cole. Both were classed as strikers.

We have proper strikers, we don't have proper service to the ones we have. I think shaq has the ability to get balls in the box but we haven't seen enough of it. Although Arnie is ace he does tend to come inside in preference to getting down the line and putting crosses in. This results in the strikers not gambling on the cross coming but hanging back for the ball expecting the wingers to come inside.
I'm not having a go at the wingers particularly because they have both proved they can put good balls in from wide, just not often enough for me. Is this because they are told to come inside? I'm not a coach but I think we should cause trouble in the penalty area a lot more than we do at the moment.
