Currently most of me best kitchen dancing happens to the metronomic Can cannibalisms of Nu Zua.

It's the infatuation with Ellen Alien and re-discovering the Soma Records stuff; Funk D'void and Slam's 'Dark Forces' etc that got me on this darker dance path.

The skittering beats and featherlight yet gorgeously deep Schengen techno of Vid. I appreciate this end of the spectrum a lot, yet I don't buy it that often. It was expensive buying records, as I'm sure you were aware, so to buy stuff like this was hard to justify, as I play with much more energy, and introspective records like this are hard to play out! Do you like Detroit techno stuff? I guess you must. Like 3 Chairs and Theo Parrish etc.. You know Moodymann obviously as you posted his actual Album on Peacefrog. You have a seriously unique taste in music, I like it!

I met Kai at a warehouse party he dj'd here for my mate years ago. We were chatting in the record store for ages during the day, I just thought he was an American tourist (dressed really wacky, had a crazy suit on with an ascot, around 2003), but was insanely into deep house, until my buddy appeared and introduced me to him

Hang the DJ. It's all gone far too generically Bingo House on here for me. Rather than staying away, some enlightenment, let's explore the outer reaches of the minimal dub infused techno hoooose of the Romanian underground. Patience. Hold up, Bingo House I'll DJ battle you if are refering to my selections mate

Nice.

It'd be no use me getting in a DJ battle with you Dunc I'd most likely clear the floor. Less of the polished House and more of the Groove for me. I'm a growing fan of the Linkwood Family. Keeping things fairly chilled. Claret and Spag Bol, a chance to enjoy the weekends football with detached objectivity. All is calm.

This is a great thread Duncan. If you put anything on the main board you get slated unless it's rock before 1980. Some great tunes here i'm gonna get. Been after 'Trouble Men - Do It' for years It had been wrongly misspelt from a Cassius Essential Mix as 'Trouble Man - Do It' so couldn't find it. Happy I could help Si. I am very resourceful and knowledgeable about house music so anything you need ID'd track wise or whatever lemme know mate !! What kinda stuff do you like? We are all just getting to know each other's tastes as we go. Seeky likes a lot of the more deeper/melodic/hypnotic style of deep house, Cheesy seems all over the shop with his leftfield kinda jazzy take and Humphrey and others have shared a couple gems as well. I like it all really, but I guess I play a lot of punchy, housey, house. Simple chords and just beats that make you want to move. EDIT: PS While you were here you shoulda dropped a track Si! Next time One for mrmeeseeks Well I like all types of music, but I am particular about the individual tracks. I guess in this general house music thread i prefer the funkier style of deep house. This is what I am listening to right now. I'll post more another night.

As for thoughts on techno. I'm not really sure what it is anymore: Underworld, Hyperion, Josh Wink, Cj Bolland, Sven Vath, Black Dog, Underground Resistance, Dreadzone, The Sandals, Wubble U ?... erm? Give us a pointer Mr. mee.
