I was one that was happy with his signing. Looks like I may have been the only one??
He was always better than Bardsley & Cameron at right-back.
I honestly think his form at Liverpool suffered from Brendan Rodgers defensive deficiencies.
With Shawcross barking orders inside he keeps Johnson on a tight-lease when necessary but still is able to bomb forward when required. Shawcross is a great leader by example showing that a defenders first responsibility is to DEFEND. I think Johnson has learned that lesson very quickly at Stoke

Glen has been the biggest surprise package for me, I thought his best years were truly behind him but I'm happy that he has proved me wrong and is a very important part of our current setup.

Must admit I was massively underwhelmed by his signing. I thought he was a busted flush. Shows that I know the square root of fuck all about football. Whereas Mark Hughes is a genius.

He's been great.. I reckon shaquiri might have struggled with bards as his wing man.. But Glen has allowed him to shine. Frank Lampard.. Who knows him well was commenting on stoke v Chelsea for Sky,and his main point seemed to be what a good player he is.

Second half against Palace aside he has been bloody good.
In a different league to the clowns playing FB for manure. (Not quite as good as Erik though)

I unlike many posters here will be the first to put my arm up and say... "Well fuck," "I was wrong to call Glen Johnson as a has been." He has been nothing but a mercurial magician this season and is deservedly pushing himself into a England squad position with his stout defensive teammates.

Said many times Moses better than either of our wingers and I'd hold to that view a real reason we have gone back a level is his absence . Guffaw.

I was very happy with his signing. I believe my actual words were "He'll be very close to, if not the player of the season".
In honour of this formidable slice of insight, I think a minute's applause on the 27th minute and a chorus of "Boother for England" is necessary at the next home game.

I've a real mind to believe that Benji has an actual superhuman power to be wrong so often. It's worth taking whatever he says, then lumping money on the complete opposite.

Johnson's leadership has been a key component of our recent success.
He is very vocal, organising and urging everyone else.
he is also forever chipping away in the ref's ear.
He is a cracking signing, especially when you see what we could have had at Soton.

I reckon we have not had a player to go have a universal slating before signing to being a pivotal member of our first 11
I think he's great

Hate to say I called it....... Wait, no I don't, I fucking love saying "I told you so" sorry duhhhh. But I did genuinely say days before he signed (supposedly for Man Utd at the time) that he really wouldn't set the Prem on fire. He was never highly rated by Barca fans or their management for that matter. He was a bit of a fringe player. Useful in the games against shit lower table teams but used rarely in bigger games. That said, I do seem to remember him scoring in a Champions league final (correct me if I'm wrong?) The BBC Spanish football correspondent summed him up perfectly. "He's not a match winner. You can't bring him on with the intention of changing a game. Rather, he'll do a useful job on whichever wing he's playing" except he's not built for the English game. He's weak and lacks the blistering pace of someone like Nathan dyer. So he offers little. It really doesn't surprise me at all, that I'd completely forgot that he even signed for Chelsea.

I think he's been poor this last month (Johnson that is). His decision making going forward was pretty poor against Arsenal but he's still part of solid defensive unit so I wouldn't say he's been 'poor' overall lately. He's one of the best right backs in the league based on this season's form.
