Thought it was strange being dropped for an unfit Muniesa, thought Hughes was reluctant to sell him though.

harldy gonna say come and get him on the cheap is he, sadly as we evolve we will have to part with players like marc, great servant and a decent player but we need better if we are to move forward

Seems a strange sell tbh, we're only going to have to replace him anyway.

No, he's worth keeping because he's much better than anyone else we have at lb cover, and imo, the only one we have.

I don't think we need three fringe players who offer cover in more or less the same positions. I never did to be honest, last summer I expected one of Geoff or Wilson to go. The season so far has shown that Geoff is probably the one to hang on to (although I don't think there's that much in it to be honest).

Marc Wilson is our best cover at LB and decent cover for evry other position across the back line.
£4.5M is alot of money for a squad player, however unless we have a player coming in who can be a reliable back up for Erik then we should not risk screwing up a really promising season by letting Wilson go.

I'd let him go at that money. Muniesa can cover Erik.
Most people on this board do nowt but slag him off anyway.

Marc is a decent player-never really found his role at Stoke I think.
Him and Shawcross were a good defencive partnership if any of our posters fail to remember!

I'd be sad to see him leave. He's our best cover at LB and he can slot in anywhere along the back or as CDM, plus he's always worked hard & professionally for us whenever called upon. That said, he's probably 3 injuries away from a place in the team right now (Pieters, Muniesa and a CB/CDM) and if he's promised first team football elsewhere it'd suck for him if we didn't let him move.

I wouldn't let him go unless we're planning on bringing somebody in. We don't have a wealth of options across the back if any of our current four pick up injuries or suspensions.

We have Wolly/Ryan/Muniesa/Cameron... But with Muniesa spending so much with the medics (do we have a super fit one or something?) you've made me worry a bit about letting him go now.

Marc wants to be (and should be) part of the Ireland set up this summer. He needs game time and this is unlikely to happen here. No choice for him, he needs a move. MH possibly has a replacement lined up? Sad to see him go, very good player ( and often underestimated for us )

I've got nothing against Wilson, I don't agree with the shit he's received from some of our own. But IF we can get that amount for him then it's great business for us and he'll finally get what he wants. I just feel that given a chance elsewhere he'll prove a great signing for them. Hopefully every true Stoke fan will wish him the best of luck.
