I'm taking that as good news regarding Arnie. Not mentioned.
Real shame regarding Geoff Cameron, perfect kind of player for this game. Big, bolsty, always makes it hard for the Arse.

Another impressive presser from our main man.
Make no mistake though, underneath that gentle Anthony Hopkins-esque Welsh accent there's a Hannibal Lecter readying the Chianti and fava beans to accompany Wenger's liver on Sunday night...

Cameron's physicality and athleticism would've been perfect to mess with their midfield. Pity he's out for it. Just need Afellay and others to step up the defensive qualities in midfield. Can't have runners through it.

I love Sparky's press conferences. They're so captivating and positive. It's refreshing to hear the manager of Stoke City big us up and showing confidence approaching the biggest games in our season. I really believe he deserves a corking season to break all records and go down in history as one of - if not the greatest Stoke City manager ever.

I loved it how he didn't blink when asked about a Champions League place, as if it was a perfectly natural question. I actually think he believes the squad is capable.

Seems we are only in the market if these top players come to us asking to be signed.
Looking at the table though it looks the perfect opportunity to sell ourselves to players telling them they can make the difference to european football.
Hope we get at least one top quality player in. I'd love to know who these players ate that bojan & shaqiri speak of

I've said it before and I have no qualms about saying it again...I absolutely love Mark Hughes. He's everything I expected him to be and a whole lot more besides.
He's honest, confident, intelligent, and he has absolute faith both in his players and in our club.
2 and a half years down the road and he remains a breath of fresh air.

I always try and have a listen to his pre match press conferences. I particularly like the way he deals with the "weekly controversy" questions - he gives a lengthy answer without actually saying much! Very astute.

My only slight reservation about that press conference (and I might be looking too much into it) when asked about manager longevity, I wish he'd replied something like 'hopefully I'll be here for a long time to come' or words to that effect.

He is really careful to give neutral answers.

He looks quite bored in them to be fair. A necessity of the modern game. I'm sure most managers would rather avoid them if it wasn't part of the clubs contract with Sky. He's not the most charismatic of charaters in front of the cameras. It's not his thing. He does pretty well though considering that.

Good to hear him say that if we can't sign our 'A' list players, we won't fill in with 'B' list players, better to wait until 'A' list players become available.
