Soft lot up at Carlisle, I don't see too much wrong with this playing surface?

Quite a few clubs at lower levels, which don't have a fraction of the income which PL clubs have, have had to postpone games following the extraordinary record levels of rainfall we've had. I don't go in for all this billy big time stuff of PL clubs supporters calling clubs like Vale who have had those problems a 'joke'. The strength of the english game is the pyramid in which clubs can rise from low levels to the top and back again. Like all pyramids a healthy top requires a strong base. If football's money was distributed just a little more evenly, some of the lower level clubs could afford to spend a bit more money on improving pitch drainage etc. I would imagine extra money dished out to the lower league clubs would pretty much go the same way as it does in the Premier League - either creamed off by owners, used to service debt or most likely of all, simply inflate the wages of the players.

The Vale wasted vast amountsof money constructing a stand that they did not need and have never completed.

Soft lot up at Carlisle, I don't see too much wrong with this playing surface? Their game was postponed because it clashed with the swimming gala held on the same day

To be fair to Vale, even if the pitch wasn't all that waterlogged a few hours before the game, it certainly would have been immediately before as it absolutely twatted it down last night. They were right to postpone it on the basis of the forecast.

I just don't get this Vale hatred TBH. I'd much rather have a chat with a Vale fan from Boslem, than a Manure fan from Kent, or a Liverpool fan from Devon. Grass roots and lower league keep us at the top, and without local fans supporting local clubs it'd be a totally different landscape. It's like having a 30ft ladder with the bottom 10 feet with no rungs... And lets face it, we have been fortunate having a wealthy benefactor like Lord Peter... Imagine if Vale had attracted a consortium such as Caldwell, Choudry & Robbie....Sure it would have been so very different. Good luck Vale...

Why don't they use one of the park pitches? Could they not use Newcastle Towns ground or beg us to loan them the Brit for the night (not that we want the leppers in our ground - or Newcastle for that matter) and at least show a smidgen of effort to at least get the game on ? Why not... They helped us in the 70's when we had to play a home game at VP because the roof had collapsed on the Butler Street stand and the ground failed a safety test, yeah...even in them days...

Vile's fortunes are of their own making. Their bitterness is like the dark side of the force. It consumes them totally. They proudly wallow in it.
Let them fester and rot in their own filth.
Good luck having a constructive conversation with a Vale fan. They utterly despise us. They are blinded by hatred and venomous bitterness. There is no affinity or respect, no goodwill towards us as civil brethren with the same roots.
JCL's and the PC brigade have forgotten how they behaved in the 90's. They are best ignored and left to stew and fester like a boil

we understand, smaller divisions clubs receive less money, and with the money they receive from fans, sponsorship have to assemble teams to climb, it's not easy working on a tight budget, if we were a Premier League club would be all that easy to keep a lawn of qualidade.Mais I realize that lawn quality Vale Park is tantamount to quality lawns of the first division of Brazil

In the 90's Tony Naylor resigned for Vale as they offered more wages than Stoke. He was out of contract went to Stoke and saw what they could offer. He then went back to the vale and demanded more than what he could get at Stoke. Vale duly obliged. Don't forget that Vale TWICE went into administration through living beyond their means. They used to dine out on a win over Stoke as the fans would forgive relegation if they beat Stoke. I remember an add in the sentinel for their season tickets. "The only potteries club in the first division " this was when they were a league above us. I also remember the postponed local derby where it was deemed that a layer of snow was a better solution than pitch covers. We were down in the shit with them but we came back. Vale have struggled by setting their targets based on envy. Rightly or wrongly this city isn't big enough to support 2 league teams. Vale had their chance and blew it. Let's face it if it was a dog it would be put down

The match then got switched to the Vic. So don't give that you got more money than us bollocks.

If we lent them the Brit so that they could play their game, you know that a few of their fans would take the opportunity to try and cause as much damage as they possibly could.

My memory is perfect thank you very much, I fondly remember Me and my Father alternating each Sat between The Vic & Vale Park, as did a lot of fans back in the day, and I dare say a few, not many, still go to VP when Stoke away, give me a home grown supporter any day rather than a glory hunter who really hasn't got a clue about the pride and the passion of supporting YOUR team through thick and thin...Don't get me wrong, I hated it when they were above us, but I certainly wish them no harm
